Why is that, if that is true. I really like eggnog with rum. Sadly I live out in the countryside and I don't think anyone has heard of eggnog and rum for the holidays, even this country likes to get a bit bombed over the year end holidays.

Supply chain issues have screwed up the holidays [ and every other day ]. My wife and I ordered presents a month ago and they still won't be here in time for Christmas.

Kraft will pay you to not make cheesecake this holiday season
Thanks to a cream cheese shortage, the company will pay some customers $20 to buy another holiday dessert instead cheesecake this year.

The supply chain issues are half of it, the completely insane shutdowns for two years running are the other half.
Dairy is time sensitive, entire dairy farms have gone under between being staff quitting for better wages on unemployment and not being able to sell their product due to trucking and stores failing.

Didn't the US government pay time of farmers to plow under their wheat crops last year?
I seem to remember thinking... Yeah, flour will be hard to get soon.
Sugar is all shipped in, so that will run out.

It's going to be a hard winter for many, but I'm afraid nobody will be able to connect the dots over why.

American Kraft products are big here, so excuse me, I'm only going on what I see on the shelves here. I think even the prices are cheaper here then in the US.

Just like apple cider. I only get it from an orchard.

I did not eggs were pretty high now.
$1.50 a dozen
And crab is way up too.
We traditionally do crab legs over Christmas but not this year... Filet mignon it is..

Ran into the cream cheese shortage last week. Weird.

If you are talking about American made eggnog, it is most likely due to fewer ships making it to Japan right now. I don't like the stuff, but I bought some for my wife and there was no shortage that I saw.

Apparently there must be. A local dairy makes eggnog to die for, and they haven't produced any this year for reason. The family is bummed.

Let’s get this party started.

2 dozen eggs, separated
1 750-mL bottle VS cognac or other brandy
16 ounces Jamaican rum
2 pounds powdered sugar
3 quarts (96 ounces) whole milk, chilled
1 quart (32 ounces) heavy cream, chilled
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg

None of that is out of stock in my world. I am golden.

How is Kraft going to know that you didn't make cheesecake, I bet a lot of people will apply for that twenty bucks and use it to make another desert, then make cheesecake with a different brand of cream cheese on a different receipt too. I actually don't like Philidelphia cream cheese as much as some other brands. It is overpriced unless on sale and even then the price of other brands on sale is cheaper. Cream cheeses have been higher the last year, the money saved will make it possible for people who feel naughty and conlike to make an extra desert with the extra twenty bucks.

There are many brands of egg nog around here, there is no shortage, and some are on sale for just a little higher price than they were last year.

Maybe this is a tactic to boost sales, that scheme does work, there will be a run on eggnog which will create a shortage.

Don't buy this industrial abomination called eggnog.

Make it your own. Much better and much healthier without all those chemicals in it (except for the sugar and alcohol, haha).

100 g sugar
12 egg yokes
1 vanilla pod
1/2 bottle of cognac
1/2 cup of water

Straight and clean, and good!
