LOL - you evidently are NOT watching the news - for instance, ILLEGALS are allowed to vote in NYC elections

No they're not. The NYC law requires immigrants to be "residents". Residents are different from illegals. For one thing, they have green cards, and some of them have work permits or student VISAs.

I realize that is just local elections

Lots of municipalities have been doing this for a long time. And, like you said, it's only local elections that effect local issues. Only American citizens, of age and not forbidden to vote due to a felony, can vote in federal elections, which is a US Constitutional right.

but how long until the MILLIONS of them elect OUR president for us?

However long it takes until the US Constitution is amended to allow such a thing.

It is called states rights and I find it rather humorous that you are screaming about cities taking the freedom to choose who should have a vote in their local elections which will affect no one except those in the city involved while the Republicans are going out of their way to ensure that they are able to just throw out large numbers of votes from legal voters in their state if they don't like the results of the presidential election... to be honest, while you scream about how this country is gonna end up a third world country, we seem to be heading straight down the path taken in the soviet union, North Korea, china.. oh ya, they have elections, just don't be surprised if the political opposition is thrown in jail, elections are restrictive as to who can vote, and it is practically impossible for anyone who isn't goosestepping to the political power to have any say or hold any office.

And I have to ask, if you are complaining about those lazy people who aren't working.. are you referring to the labor shortage we are currently experiencing?
Got news for you... a good part of that is that alot of those who were close to retirement just opted to take early retirement. I guess that republican governor who was saying how all those elderly people would gladly sacrifice themselves to covid for the sake of the nation and the younger generations convenience were wrong? Think of it as the boomers saying f-you!! Add the boomers who opted to take early retirement, those who died, those who found themselves losing the caregiver they were relying on to care for their kids so they could work, those who couldn't rely on the schools being open and finding themselves playing that role..
Well... so sorry if it might take a little longer for you to get your Starbucks in the morning!!

Don't know which you are talking about, the fit over NY letting some immigrants vote in local elections, or the abortion bans..
Doesn't matter..
States rights do not extend out to the right to deny individuals their constitutional rights...
Be it their right to vote, and have that vote counted, or the rights of pregnant women...
Then it falls onto the federal govt and supreme court to ensure the rights are protected.

LOL - the dems STILL have their minds closed to actual facts, NYC only requires that someone be in this country for 30 DAYS so that they can vote.
And don't cry when Republicans get back into power, and reverse all the nonsense, such as heaping free benefits to those who have not worked and will never work in our country.
It's only for political gain, meanwhile our neighborhoods are turning into slums.

And, I just might feel differently if I was living in a city that was letting them.. but, I ain't and I doubt if you are. The the people of New York work out their own problems and worry about your own neighborhood.

Again, no it doesn't. It requires someone to have been a "resident" of New York City for at least 30 days. It takes a lot longer than 30 days to get a Green Card.

How Long Does it Take to Get a Green Card?
It takes 7 to 33 months to process a Green Card application.

visaguide.world...

It would enable more than 800,000 permanent U.S. residents, or green-card holders, and other legally documented non-citizens to take part in elections for city leaders, including the mayor. Non-citizen residents would not be allowed to vote in state or federal elections.

“I am proud to be voting on legislation that will give the right to vote to green card holders and people who are authorized to work in the United States of America,” Council Speaker Corey Johnson said before the vote.

Just what are these huge benefits? And ya know what, my husband worked for an asphalt paving company in tx. Half of the crew couldn't speak english. He said they were some of the hardest working people he ever worked with. I have worked with people from central america, Nepal, africa and the middle east... ya know what?? They are hard workers!
You know who aren't really good employees? American dads who want to skimp out on their child support. Single moms of young children who are so overwhelmed by trying to balance work and the responsibility of children, who would be much happier staying home and caring for those children. And, for your information, unless she is making a nice sum of money, it is costing the taxpayer more for her to be working.

People are granted certain Constitutional Rights if they are in the United States for one second. It's usually people who hate or don't understand the Constitution who don't know these things.

First you invite me into this great problem you see in NY city you claim is gonna destroy the country, now you are telling me to mind my own business???

Lol..
Lol...

Gee I hope you weren't trying to enlist people to come to NY to protest this big problem of yours. If you were, you just wasted time with me.
I am born and raised in upstate NY.. I have family and friends there. We left around the time that crazy, corrupt govt was trying to con the state taxpayers to put up just about all, if not all, the initial cost of building a much needed stadium for one of the football teams... in NY city. They were talking about building a giant platform above the city for the stadium.
According to the constitution, the state can't borrow money but they found a way around that with all their quasi-government authorities and had the state in an insane amount of debt..
It doesn't matter if it is dems in charge or republicans.. the state stinks of corruption and insanity. And it will never get another cent of my money with their insane taxes and fees. Not even the amount that I would have to pay to fill up my gas tank to go home.
I will be glad to mind my own business when it comes to that state!

Umm, the bill of rights is part of the constitution. The amendments are part of the constitution.

You know what isn't part of the constitution?
The "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equally, that they are endowed by their "Creator" with certain unalienable rights...."
That is part the preamble of the declaration of independence and is followed by a list of grievances to justify their revolt from english rule... the tyranny inflicted on them by england.
It was written mainly to inspire the colonists to join the cause of revolution.
