Love REM!
Things around here...ya never know from one day to the next. Some days are fine, other days are emergencies.

Right now. we have more snow. Been snowing since yesterday. Strange weather even for New England. We had a temperature of close to 60 degrees one day, like Spring or Summer, then wham, back to snow.

We're good. Thanks for your kind reply. Some serious health issues for my son. (19) but moving on. Over the worst of it and progressing. It's been a while. Lot of travelling btw health centres.

'True Love' sends her regards to you and yours.

Kind regards,

Bally

Thank God your Son is improving. Mark is in and out of the Hospital once a month, sometimes twice a month. Scary as hell.
You can send a PM any time if you need to talk.

Give True Love a big hug for me.
You get one too.

Thanks 5th and Night. Schedule will see us tripping back and forth to Sydney every three weeks until xmas.

It's good though. The young man has improved and comes to work with me or true love each week for a couple of days so it's for the better good in the long term. It's heartening to see the doctors taking such good care of him.

And we do the tourist things in Sydney like dinner at the top of Centerpoint Tower, shops, train and ferry rides and my fav, the maritime museum. Even dropped in on Luna Park and had ice creams.

Exotic meals and Uber eats. Even bought some antiques. Pretty cool really but it's all over very quickly then the trip northwards home. Make sure we do something different every trip, even tipped a cabby in my first taxi trip in nearly a decade. The things you miss when you live in the bush. No such things as train or bus fares. That threw me. Felt a real dill getting in the bus and asking to buy a fare ticket. The driver just looked at me as did all the masked passengers. I slowly retreated back out the door much to the amusement of Truey.

Um, we both agreed we are behind the times living where we do. We all got it in the end. But honestly, I don't think I could ever live in the big smoke. A lot of people look down as you walk past and say 'g'day.

But the hospital docs and staff and people at the lodging were quite friendly.

Anyway, it's a bit of adventure, different and looking forward to the young man getting better this year.

Kind regards,

Bally

Doc had to do it with stitches. You can knock off the search.

Hopefully, I won't erupt into stitches of laughter. Not my typical style ... except for posts here in The Shed.

Cheers,
Snarl

Bahahaha! I do that a lot myself. It's hysterical sometimes.

Are you still doing wood working? Make anything interesting? I'm sure you have.

Ooooh, sounds like a lot of fun! What antiques did you buy? I'm a big fan of antique shopping, though I haven't been to a shop in quite some time.

Gentle hugs for your Son.

Wow, the Shed has been around for 8 years!
This calls for a celebration.

Night watches everyone come out of hiding and gather together.

Off to the Green Forest Inn.

I'm guessing you hadn't heard of electronic payment systems that are now everywhere for all forms of public transport, here too. I made the same mistake back in the day. You do feel kinda like an idiot for a moment but when you don't use public transport much it's understandable. People look at you like a time-traveller from 1894. "A ticket...?"

As for saying "Hi" to people in large cities, yeah. I learned not to do that a long time ago. Where I live now I do, if the other person says it first. I'm a fairly reserved Brit and I don't look like most regular folk here which works to my disadvantage sometimes but sometimes the other way round too. Nothing is nicer than people judging a book by the cover and realising they made a huge mistake when you reply fluently in their own language and they have to change up a gear. It's the look in their eyes lol.

Cabbys are good, I can't afford 'em anymore but you can't surprise a cabby, they've seen everything under the sun. The only thing cities have to offer is convenience. They have everything. Drugs, violence, crime, rudeness, congestion and people tightly wrapped up in their own expensive and busy lives, in my humble opinion. I don't want to live in a large city but due to circumstances I might be forced to. Rotterdam. 660,000 people plus change. At the end of the day that will be better than this temporary but comfortable accommodation but I am trying to resist it as long as I can. I have a year or two left here (population 6,000 at best. Time will tell.

Big love and good health to you and yours. Doctors and hospitals are worth a trip to a city for.

Hi 'Raine,
I am still doing some, I was busy with pen-making in the run up to Christmas, but am a bit quieter now.
I'm still doing my volunteer Hazel-Coppicing in the woods once or twice a week too though.

Here are some of my recent pens:

8 Years?? WOW.
