You are right. Its not a journalists job to play anything at all, but a reporter of factual information in an unbiased, unfiltered manner.

i dont think we have any more of those, but on balance, there are far more on the left stretching truth and filtering facts.

I can think of at least a couple examples of such Borg deception, but certainly nothing like a modern democrat who is both standing on and spouting deceptions most of the time.

Google the U of M Ohio state game and look at the massive crowd on the field after the game , there are no super spreader events . Stadiums packed with people face to face yelling and screaming but no major outbreaks , strange indeed .

There is a lag from time of infection to presentation of symptoms, to be considered, too.

Also, one needs to consider the negative effect on these figures of the increasing numbers who have been vaccinated:

The vaccination effects also have a significant lag after the vaccinations, so that has to be factored in.

On the whole, despite a more than 55% full vaccination coverage, something must be pushing the current spike in daily cases?

Almost 1.2 million per season (spectators alone).

More than half of which go from that packed game directly to crowded dorms and classrooms, and thousands of them, to food service jobs in the community.

NOTHING in those statistics indicate any kind of super spreader event occured.

You obviously don't have appreciation of the math.

At the start of the game, there were few people infected. Lets say 20 attendees at the game were carrying the live virus. Each of those people probably only had close enough contact to spread to 100 or 200 new people at the game. So that is potentially 4,000 newly infected people, where hours before it was only 20. That is a super-spreader event.

It doesn't matter how many people were at the game, because everyone doesn't get infected. The numbers relate to the initially infected, and the contacts that they make during the game. But these numbers were pulled out of the air (just like your ones were). So, lets put some real world numbers around this and get some rough idea of what might have been going on:

Back on the 4 September, the day of that first game, there were 1,494 confirmed new daily cases, and 267 unconfirmed probable cases. That was for the whole state - a good number of those would have been sick and not have attended the game, or for other reasons, would you agree?

So, some simple math. The total population of Michigan is currently estimated to be about 9,992,427. The attendees at the stadium were probably from the state. The official capacity for the Michigan Stadium is 107,601. Therefore a full stadium crowd represents 1.0768 % of the state population. So, if the whole state new daily cases were 1,1761, then the approximate likely number of newly infected cases attending the game would probably be south of about 19 people.

9 days after the game, 13 September, when those people infected on the day of the game should all be showing symptoms, there were 2,706 confirmed new daily cases and 545 unconfirmed probable cases, roughly 1.85 times all the cases in the whole state only 9 days before!

Of course, those numbers are affected lots of factors that could have led to a near doubling of cases in the whole state in 9 days, but really, what other thing could have contributed to that sharp a rise?

Are you under the impression that a virus would not spread through nearly the entire stadium during each 3-4 hour game?

That air movement is that slow?

That everyone just stop breathing for 3 hours?

That the number of people one comes into contact with is that low?

That the spread would magically stop once students returned to their packed dorms & classrooms full of people that didn't attend the game?

And that this magic bullet of a virus would do all of that again the next week, and then again the next week, etc.?

*PS Michigan Marijuana is legal, so is delivery of Magic Mushrooms, and rec stores surround the stadium.

I'm guessing...some percentile of the majority of attendees...are in...an ..altered state of "it's ok, I don't give a crap!" attitude at game time.

Yes. That is correct. The stadium is open to the outdoors and hot air (exhaled breath) rises, so the majority of viral particles will not be re-breathed by the whole crowd.

Also, the transmission distance is only a few meters in each case (that is how social distancing works), and people who have just been infected may not be infectiously producing new viral particles, with which to infect others, for several hours.

And yes, in a crowded location, most people would come into probable infectious contact with about 100-200 people.

Sure, and Fox did that against Obama. Like i said, the party cheerleading "journalists" are hurting the field and creating mistrust.

But its also the people's fault. If we read and supported real journalism and stopped watching or reading fox news, cnn, newsmax, msnbc ect... then the industry would certainly change.
