Have you ever wonder what eventually happens to frozen assets and funds related to criminal activity?

Governments sell the assets, confiscate the funds and probably claim 'to return to the community'. Now you know why police ignore criminal organizations as long as they could and net in the money when the time is ripe.

One reason why i do not work for government because i get tax payer money mixed with illegal / blood money. (I am being self-righteous here...ha..ha)

Illegal asset seizure... this is a scam of EPIC proportions.

The Feds have been doing this crap for decades... this issue was at the crux of the "Bundy Ranch" standoff. (Not Al and Peg... )

There are thousands of cases, involving Americans that had assets illegally seized by the government... they were all essentially screwed. Who can afford to pay lawyers to fight a case, when the government has an unlimited budget?

It's a catch-22. Fall on your knees, plead guilty, and forfeit your assets... or sell all of your assets to pay lawyers in a counter-suit.

You are buggered either way...

You've forgotten about forfeiture law. Not everyone is a criminal who gets caught up in that.

Just sayin'

So what about our criminal government ? Proven time again & again that they are corrupt to the core.
Who gets to seize their assets and funds? Oh that's right nobody !
That's why they are corrupt. No accountability and no consequences.

Yes, but how many thousands of people have had assets wrongfully seized, were never charged with a crime, but lost everything anyway?

It happens more than you think.

I think the laws were enacted in good faith, but abused in the name of Government funding.

...and not just the feds, many States have used these laws to pad their own budgets... and line their own pockets.

I have no problems with asset seizure, if the person is CONVICTED of a felony, and seizure is warranted. The Fed, and many State Governments allow the seizures if one is merely accused of said felonies... That is wrong.

I know a guy in Tucson that had family property in SW Pima County. His property was seized by the county, as an "illegal dump site". It was labeled as an illegal "dump site", because illegal aliens crossing his property were dumping their trash. He tried several times to remove the trash, and asked the county to help. They blew him off. Repeatedly.

It was cheaper for him to forfeit the property, than to fight the seizure.

He lost his property, because the Federal Government failed in their duty to protect our border.

That is just how easy it can happen. He retired honorably from the USAF as a MSgt, and was no criminal.

He got screwed. He lost his family property to an unfair system.

That story has nothing to do with being a criminal .
That is about local and state laws and regulations.

You wanted an account of an asset seizure by the Government, against an innocent party.

My friend was totally innocent.

They seized the man's property, because of a problem that they created.

Yes, this happens. It's a travesty.

(Pima County, Arizona has long been liberal land... so, no big surprise, really. The Chicago of the desert Southwest... I lived in Tucson for nearly 8 years, and the city is crooked beyond belief... )

There was a man in california who had $40k taken if I remembe correctly. He won it at the casino and had no proof on him, so they took it. It took hm forever to get it back, and he only got it because he wqas able to prove it. What if that was his life savings and he had no recipts? Does that mean he should have lost it?

There are countless cases of business owners going to buy things like cars to put on a lot, or a building itself for cash that have had over $100 taken, and it has happened a bunch of times. If you want to learn, look it up.

Almost everything abusive governments do is always legal according top that gov going back to ancient times. They dont actually need people like you arguing that the rules they made are ok when they take peoples freedom or property without due process, because those are the rules they made. Taking stacks of money from someone is taking what they produced with their freedom. It make you a slave if you have nothing in the end, and did not lose all you had for breaking a low, or some other thing society as a whole agreed you should be punished for. It does not matter the technicality. In many areas, it is guilty until proven innocent if you have a large amount of cash and no receipt from a bank.

I will correct your poor logic here.

The story has everything to do with criminals who legislate local and state laws and regulations so that this type of theft seems legit to the society members who have poor logic skills.

Criminals don't follow laws, therefore don't need votes to win elections.

Not done, not next.
Quit thinking you're the authority on simple answers to complex questions, this answer was bad and you should feel bad.
