I think the 'smartest' device I own is a touch-lamp. Not even sure why I still have it. I can't keep it near me or I'll accidentally turn it on.

I've noticed ads popping up after discussing something. It is hard to tell if the ads were actually triggered or if I am just more aware so more sensitive to noticing them.

Just accept that you are being tracked and watched at all times. There is no privacy anymore. If you do something, they will be able to pull up all your activity in a database. Every phone conversation, every porn site you've visited, your ATS threads, where you've driven and how fast drove, etc....

Nice, I have the same watch with a white face along with a GMT power reserve.

I wanted the 359 'dirty dial' but they only do it with the traditional face now instead of all numerals.

Interesting how they slowed walked us into accepting the stealth of our privacy as normal.

We now have no expectation of privacy, in any way, any where. In fact, it is expected that our every word, everything we do, will be recorded, videoed, and stored.

We sold or gave it all away. Now we are shackled and locked into a system that will only become more invasive and aggressive.

We choose to give up our privacies, without thinking. Esau got a bowl of stew, I still am not sure if we got anything nutritious or filling.

Those are definitely the army of little garden protectors that keep popping up in my ads for whatever reason.
As for the other, I really need to pay more attention to the company I keep...

I think people expect privacy but they don't realize they have none. When you lose a little bit at a time, you tend not to notice. The other problem is that the benefit of convenience often cause people to put their guard down. People love the convenience of being connected but not realizing they are trading their privacy / data for that convenience.

My biggest fear is that a tyrannical govt can just "cut you off". All it takes is a flip of a switch and you cannot access your money or do practically anything. Turn off the power to your home. Turn off your car.

They have more data than they know what to do with on each of us. I think their goals are far beyond what they know about us, it is now geared to what they can do with all that they know.

They are so far ahead of the game they have created, that they are now ready to populate us in that Metaverse they have constructed. They have already won the war for our minds, they are now in the game to claim our souls.

And they are winning at that battle also.

Uh yeah…as I said, shopping for clothes is my LEAST favorite activity, just about. I intentionally picked a subject I hadn’t mentioned or searched for in recent memory—in OR out of the house or my wife’s car. Something that wouldn’t show up on my search history. When I say I hate shopping for clothes, I mean I hate it! I usually get either political ads, human resource software ads (NO idea why) or ads for food. I’m aware of how and why these ads appear on my screen, [except for the software ads ]

Combined with all the other times when this has happened (without it being an experiment), I find it more than a coincidence or simple inattention to what’s crossing my screen. If I do another ‘experiment’, as you suggest, I think I’ll wonder out loud what tomorrow’s winning Lotto numbers are!

I haven't driven for about twenty years now but I really wish my old car could have listened to me.

Everywhere I went i kept saying "please don't break down, please don't break down, please don't break down."

Damn thing never listened.

I think Google and Apple were quite accurate in saying they had no personal assistants listening in. May be early on but for a few years they have been using AI. there is too much information floating about for a mere human to process.
You think your car listening to you is bad, a few years ago hackers were hacking into smart TVs and recording sound and video off the TVs in the privacy of peoples homes.
