500 years ago the church and their priest set themselves between you and your belief in getting to heaven even though Christ said, "the only way to heaven is through me" but the church had a very effective form of persuasion like the threat of eternal damnation or heck lets just burn that B**ch if you do not go to their houses of worship and give money ! So the Church tried to control thought but hey 500 years ago it was not nearly as good as it has become today; enter stage left, Google, Facebook, Twitter, youtube, and other social networks. The social scores are not in effect yet...But wait for it and then lets see what happens.

Google was a small played back in the 90s until the CIA got in bed with them and now they are the biggest gate keeper in the world. Many of the lessor gate keepers on knowledge are either owned by Google or are also but extensions of the CIA's dirty finger Psyops.

Very good thread. Media is the single most effective weapon of mass destruction.
And the power grabbers have effectively switched from the lower forms of power, like do it as I say so, or do it as God tells you to, to the most effective form,
do it because you want it yourself!
i wonder what changed compared to the birdflu, swineflu, SARS-scares from the years past.

What's information? What's a fact?
Because that determines how valid your opinion is.
Is it based on facts and direct experience, or on opinions and stories?
That's much deeper and a philosophical question at heart if you really think about it.

I'm all for total transperence. But in this system it's not my or your secrets that determine our destiny, it's public figures like politicians, or legal persons like companies whose secrets are of public interest.

Which is the root issue: there's no direct democracy, because people have been taught to fear 'mob rule', or as he says: we don't trust eachother to make the right decision.
So we surrender to a hierarchy again, politicians and companies, to rule and determine what's fact, even though it hasn't been working for... well at least 7 000 years.
Like Einstein says: crazy is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different outcomes.
We fall for it every time, put a new name and a new dress on it and people say: thanks for making my decisions for me.

...I'm watching simultaneously and got to say it's not bad.

A big mistake was to allow Federal elections of US Senate seats. We were supposed to elect our State Rep's and State Sen's. They were to choose two Senators from within that state's own Legislature. Then when they are screwing up in the DC, the state legislature get's to deal with them for the people who voted them in instead of challenging a powerful Senator who won on popularity of the public. Some things can't be a popularity contest.

This situation made it so your local state legislature who are most closely related to their constituents can act for the best interest of the state instead of other entities. Those entities are corrupting the elected Senators, and can't be reeled back in so easy if our own legislatures can't stop them. We need to reset to previous era on laws, and wipe the books but for some basic's. Then, we start with laws that are not piggybacked on another law. Only laws that pertain to the situation not pork barrel spending bills hidden within these laws to establish answers for important needs.

I didn't want to sound too outrageous but yes, it is global.

Regarding media in the USA. Just one question. When shown to be charletans, falsifiers and outright liars time and time again over and over forever, why would anyone keep believing it?

I just don't understand how you can be lied to 1000 times and just come right back for 1001 ready to believe anything they say it's just garbage at this point. Almost like an abusive relationship psychology thing going on.

Because most people believe what they are told. A few will only rely on what they see, or are shown, and will believe what they are told, they are seeing. Fewer still, will question everything, will want proof of everything, but will believe only what they choose to believe.

I have been guilty of all three, at one time or another. Now, I don't worry too much about the lies others tell me. It takes up too much of my time trying to separate the wheat from the chaff, and to avoid feeding lies to myself.

The other thing to take note of. Lies are hard to keep track of when you're the lier. In this age, it's easy to just go back a few weeks and point out the lies of these people. It's flip flopping all over the place. This should be a huge red flag. At the very least, if you're going to lie, get your story straight and stick with it.

On the other hand, it's easy to stand your ground on truth. Truth doesn't change. Pay attention to the people that have stories that haven't changed.
