Um... validation from any source is what social media achieves. Sometimes it isn't even limited to validation, just simply attention, which can often be negative.

People post a lot of weird crap on facebook. But by far, many people just share other's creations. Lack of originality really seems to be the trend these days. At least the colonoscopy is original...kind of weird, but it is original.

People do things like that here too.
It is not just limited to FB. I mean, this place is not much different than FB, it is just formatted differently.
It is all 'social media'.

I think I may have posted once when I ran out of coffee and was in a particularly foul mood, so anyone would know my responses weren't directed at them, but the lack of coffee, but other than that, what the OP posted happened falls under the banner of TMI and you don't see that too often around ATS..
