People have different opinions of genocide? It is understanding in battle you will have two sides and many casualties. However the extermination of any mass group of people is a slightly different situation.

You can’t teach people to be intellectually critical if they don’t know what the argument is
First you must understand the opposing view entirely to criticise that view
Both sides of an argument are imperative to make an informed decision

Yes, teach anti holocaust history and holocaust history and make an informed decision

So what about the likes of the Bible?

Do they also have to teach Anton LaVey's rhetoric?

While you are being cheeky, Anton LaVey didn't really pen an antiChristian rhetoric insomuch as questioning power structure.

Truly critical books of the bible are generally found in scholarly literature.

So teachers don't like the new law; they had a rant about it and some recorded the ranting?

Is that the takeaway here?

It sounds to me, that the Texans might want to embrace the Holocaust deniers theory as well. That's the only opposing viewpoint I can think of.

Or depending on which side of the spectrum you fall; there could be "good" holocaust and "bad" holocaust.

Or perhaps the anti-Semites might now have a voice in Texas.

This isn't Texas.

This is one administrator in one district.

Mein Kampf? Seems a bit harsh for school children.

Scholarly literature about a work of fiction.

Got to love this world and or at least praise and honour the work of gods special little creature.

After all our imaginations precious even if we don't see the planet in a similar light.

Do they bother telling students that watch Schindlers List that it is a work of fiction? The deaths of millions of German civilians and POW's in Allied camps is conveniently forgotten to reinforce the "we were the good guys" narrative but the truth is we were just as bad; Russian, American and French authorities starved, forced relocations and sent Germans to gulags. People who had nothing to do with slave labor camps. Fact is all our governments have committed horrible atrocities and we are being bluntly reminded just how much they "care" about the average citizen during the current covid "crisis". We are seeing how easily reality can be twisted for social control, just imagine how much easier it is to do that with history.

If I have learned 1 thing in my 62 years it is that most of both history and reality are controlled by the few big money interests. Standard Oil and IBM continued doing business with Germany during the war. The big banks increased their loan portfolios enormously during every war. Look beyond the personal narratives to see what the bankers were up to. They are never the guilty yet they profited from every evil act ever done.
