On topic: meme compilations re. stars and flags which soothe my autism and are definitely on topic.

I think I still use the F & S system the way it was introduced and that's out of habit over the years.
I flag a thread that I feel is worthy and it's to draw attention to it from other members. The more flags a thread gets, the more people will click on it to read it just because we figure it must be good. So by flagging I'm doing my part to contribute to that system. It isn't always the OP either, but could be the discussion it generated and there are good points as responses.
My star system is basically posts that I agree with, or posts that have enlightened me in some way. There's always something new to be learned here and if a member posts something that I feel adds to my knowledge base in a positive way, they get a ⭐

Anyone who posts imo deserves both.

I will also go through and just star posts as I read them.

I dont put too much into the stars and flags as they are pointless outside of ATS.

Ummm...more importantly...the algorithm knows who you starred and flagged...even if you never commented...

Which means that tptb know your political/other belief systems...even if you never commented...ever...

Just another way to track you...through your illusion of anonymity...

I've never thought of the 13 flag thing, now that BigBurgh and yourself mention it, I'll prolly be the same, lmao.

I did notice something interesting.

You guys do the 13 flag thing in different ways.

ie; Burgh won't click the 12 flag, because 13 is unlucky, and, you click the 13th flag to get it off the bad mojo.

Yea, if I'm criticizing a thread I make an exception and don't SnF.
