BepiColombo Sends Back Its First Images of Mercury

On 1 October 2021, the ESA/JAXA BepiColombo spacecraft performed its first Mercury flyby.
These are some of the first images taken by the Monitoring Cameras, which provide black-and-white snapshots in 1024 x 1024 pixel resolution

BepiColombo is a collaboration between the European Space Agency and the Japanese Space Agency to study the innermost planet in our Solar System , Mercury.
Comprising of two spacecraft BepiColombo will make 9 flyby's of Mercury to slow itself down before it enters orbit , once in orbit the two spacecrafts will separate and start their missions proper , they will explore Mercury's Core ,Surface, Magnetic field and its Exosphere.

Very cool!

I just learned something about Mercury I did not know. The hottest temperature on the surface of Mercury is actually lower than the average temperature on Venus. That was really surprising.

Mercury doesn't have a Atmosphere of Greenhouse gasses.
Give mercury Venus's atmosphere annnnnnnnd oh boy!
