Are those big logos on side like BP, Shell etc.. also for emergency services or do they give away wether it’s a fuel tanker not too?

Some do some as I said are delivered by independent companies like Hoyer , the notices say it's carrying inflammable and toxic substances , they also show code numbers for the emergency services reference .

You don’t think the MSM were trying to convince people there would be a fuel shortage in the first place when there wasn’t then?

I think the MSN played the situation for what it's worth and hold responsibility for misunderstanding and falsely reporting the problem causing people to panic ... like a dog barking causes sheep to panic.

That’s why farmers ask people control their dogs while on their land.

The same way the MSM should be prevented from making up false claims and bogus stories. They need to be held to account.

I wrote to the BBC complaints dept last week (a pointless exercise I know) after watching the two Neanderthals on Breakfast News once again speculating and spinning a small regional piece into a full blown crisis. It’s highly irresponsible for a news outlet to use their position to lecture to a captive audience. Especially using two Neanderthals who think they’re journalists, when their priority in a morning is how well their mop head looks.
And by the way, yesterday I went to the local Tesco’s to fill up with petrol and do a weeks shopping and the only thing I couldn’t get was a piece of Wendsleydale cheese.

The fuel shortage has been (er) fuelled by the media and made worse by public self-panic.

No shortages here of anything, let alone fuel! Is this a city thing?

Not at all.
What worries me more is that idiots like this have driving licenses.
And as other commenters have noted, the hazzardous material labels on the rear give the game away.

All I can say is if they can’t figure out that was a dry bulk trailer and not a tanker, let them follow until they run out of fuel. It might teach them a lesson.

I wonder if there is a market for a ‘Not a fuel tanker’ sticker?

Necessity is the mother of invention.

From The Guardian: www.theguardian.com...

Germans with no HGV experience asked to drive lorries amid UK fuel crisis
Mass appeal automatically sent to holders of pre-1999 German licences, which entitle holder to drive trucks

Thousands of Germans who live in the UK have been written to by the government asking them to drive lorries in an attempt to ease the UK fuel crisis, even though the majority have never been at the wheel of an HGV.

They were included in a 1m-letter mass mailing that also tried to recruit ambulance drivers to get behind the wheel of lorries.

The recruitment drive is aimed at easing the UK’s supply chain shortages and a lack of petrol at forecourts... continued in article.

The Germans were automatically included in the mailout because German driving licences issued before 1999 include an entitlement to drive small- to medium-sized trucks of up to 7.5 tonnes.

Like British drivers who passed their test before 1997 there is a "Grandfather rights" entitlement to drive 7.5 tonners , while there is a shortage of 7.5 tonne drivers , because if you passed after 97 you now need a Class 2 license to drive them , they will not help solve the problem of bulk goods delivery.

Yes, exactly... I too think it won't make any difference and how many people would apply anyway.

I'm in the same category, I got my licence in 1985, with all the bells and whistles.

I wonder if James Bond has priority at the fuel pumps for his Aston?

If not, his next film will probably be called:

A Queue For A Fill*

* Not my invention, I saw the punchline somewhere else and just had to post...
