Hello ATS!

I would like to ask the forum members for help. I have one document, most likely an American certificate or share, from the first half of the 20th century. If there are specialists in stock trading who can help me in determining what it is.

Thank you in advance.

It's a 'less than one hundred share' stock certificate for the company detailed on the obverse which manufactured air brakes for the rail and truck industry at the time this certificate was stamped.

The company was based out of Pittsburgh where it also appears the shares were sold/deposited. It also appears to be a WW2-era certificate and not an early one.

Nicely engraved antique stock certificate from the Westinghouse Air Brake Company dating back to the 1940's and 1950's. This document, which carries the printed signatures of the company President or Vice President and Treasurer, was printed by the Security Bank Note Company, and measures approximately 12" (w) by 8" (h).

I forgot you were into this stuff too, it cost me more to frame most of mine than the old paper is worth but they do look nice.

OP's is in pretty poor shape...worth a few bucks...but some are quite beautiful...and are essentially nice limited edition engravings.

I have a few from the 1800s that are in very good shape and predate the hole punch usage era so are unmarred even though they were sold.

Not sure if this will help in finding out what those old stock are worth if at all. They're likely outdated as the years have gone by.

*nevermind*
Seems IAMTAT is up to speed

"Wabtec" looks like the company has been rebranded.

It does, Westinghouse locally is the company that builds nuclear plants around the world. In fact they have a contract with China and are building 2 power plants there as of 4 years ago. And of course you know the history of Westinghouse being the makers of power distribution/supplies.

Though I'm not aware of breakaway companies it may have spawned over the century. Or if anything since has value.

For what it's worth, it's a nice peice of history. Hang on to it👍🏼😊

Yes, which means the stock certificate was sold or deposited and no longer has any value as an instrument. It's purely of value only to scripophilists or historians.

It was less than 100 shares and that company has been acquired by another.
