exactly. I live in a tsunami watch area. There have been 3 or 4 in the last 30 years Ive lived here. All the boats in the harbor nearby set out to sea, where they are safe.

It’s intensified again just now.

I’ve seen all sorts of estimates, it really depends on the size of the landslide and the coastal formation when the wave hits land. There’s another thread Phage commented in, I’ll look it out for you when I get home. Despite what some people claim he knows his stuff.

If I remember correctly the original theory was if the big volcano were to erupt again, the west flank will slide into the Atlantic.

It could be with the next eruption but it could also take multiple eruptions.

The eruption we are seeing right now, although also named Cumbra Vieja, isn't the big volcano that you see in the middle of La Palma.

The mods there delete a lot of stuff. Some I can see why, but not about a possible piece of land falling into the ocean.

I was hearing, at first, that it could last into December. That was about a week ago and I haven't heard anything else about it so it could have changed to a month or two.

They are strict about creating hysteria because if you look at the live chats on other live feeds, they are a cesspool of morons.

Honestly, most of the chats are more toxic than Sulpher Dioxide from the volcano.

To be honest, I have a better time believing the tsunami is more of a possibility due to the fact that people are getting shut down just for talking about it. The US authoritarians have made it abundantly clear over the past several months that us peasants will do what they say or we'll pay the price.
