Manufactured in Merthyr Tydfil at the Hoover plant. Hence the urban myth they were powerd by washing machine motors.

r.i.p sir clive. i have fond memories of staying over at my friend's house (he had a zx spectrum before me), waiting ages for 'the hobbit' to load off cassette tape, only for it to crash right at the end, then have to start over, for the eventual reward of text-based adventuring that relied on imagination more than graphics. great days. cheers clive

Still got a 20 year old made in UK Hoover washing machine. Cracking product.

They never managed to shift anything like that number all the same.

Seen a few years ago some for sale on ebay with uprated motors etc, though a Raptor 700 appeals a bit more these days
