I was just wondering because as I have mentioned previously, my life has not really changed at all in the last almost 2 years of this pandemic and I realize that has made me lack perspective on the experiences of others. I am very sorry that the level of fear is so high that the government feels compelled to make more regulation and reach further into our lives.
I want to understand this fear so I have a few questions for anyone, any side of the issue, about their personal, real-life experiences during the past almost 2 years of pandemic.
How many people do you know that have contracted covid-19 in real life?
How many of those people became violently ill, hospitalized or dead?
How many of those have long-lasting effects from their illness with covid-19?
I just feel like with all the divisive rhetoric on both sides, learning about the experience of others may help us come together. Remember that TPTB want us divided. I just want to understand why the level of fear exists.

Since you are the best (worse) answer so far I have a follow-up question, of the 5 people you know for sure caught it, were they related to each other or living in the same household or members of different households and if so, was the spread limited to other household members or were these all distinct infections not related to each other?

Quite a few that I know have had it. An extended family member died (father of an uncle’s ex wife). A few that were acquaintances of people I know. Of my regular gaming group, 3 out of the 8 of us have not had it. We also played on Fantasy Grounds (online table top software) for about a year during the lockdowns.
