No Man's Sky celebrated its fifth anniversary last month and while many developers would have released a load of paid for DLC and be hyping the impending arrival of No Man's Sky 2 Hello Games instead continue treat their community with more free stuff , the next major free update to No Man's Sky will be Frontiers which will included the addition of procedurally generated alien settlements on the planets you visit.

Introducing No Man's Sky's 17th free update: FRONTIERS. Explore procedurally generated alien settlements, learn their stories and help them develop thriving communities. Construct your own grand structures with new base parts and new building tools.

If this is the final Frontier or not remains to be seen but Hello Games owe nobody anything after the 5 year commitment they've shown this game , the rest of the game development world would do well to take a leaf from their book.

They lied . Let us down and we won't just forgive and forget.

Cyberpunk another example.

The active player count for no mans sky is laughable....

Game is dead and will never give it nor cyberpunk another chance.

Refunded both.

Your loss then.
Hello games attempted to make something original and groundbreaking with a small development team , it took them a couple of years to finally achieve that but they've continued to build on the game since them with no charge to the players.

I guess we should all just wait for the Next Call of Duty with all those lovely micro-transactions and paid for DLCs rather than support developers who care about creating original games and the people who play them.

Dang it
This is the second major update since I lent my copy to my nephew, who now plays it all the time and will have a strop if I ask for it back...
Looks like they've added new missions in the new towns which is cool.
And the interiors are looking good.

The hours those guys have put into improving the game since the release is crazy.

Hope Ill get my copy back one day

loss lol no game still looks trash .

They attempted to make something original and groundbreaking while LYING and selling a unfinished game full of bugs and broken promises?

This is a strange way to make something original and groundbreaking no ?

It took them a couple years to achieve because they originally lied . stole money on a unfinished game. and used that money to FINISH THE GAME.

Why would they charge players ? They never finished the game when first released LOL .. They are just making up for their incompetence .

Call of Duty is also trash. I gave up on that series. They just keep rehashing the same old game .

what is creating original games ? No mans sky is boring af . Sure you have a gazillion planets to explore.. But why ? They all look the same with same boring missions ...

You don't just screw over gaming fans and expect them to still take you seriously.

I hope hello games goes out of business for LYING and creating boring games.

Its cool they gave this game there all ... but theres so many better space games out there now

A update certainly won't pull me away from starbase

But starbase is more my kind of game its hard af no mans sky not so much but we still build ships in starbase based off alot of ships in nms

I called it with cyber punk and with this game. Hype rarely lives up to peoples deluded fantasy’s.
Some people just literally live to be disappointed.

The active player count for no mans sky is laughable....

It's currently in the top 100 games on Steam with the most active players.

Yes the marketing was misleading but they more than made up for it, which Cyberpunk has failed to do so far.

You don't just screw over gaming fans and expect them to still take you seriously.

Except it happened and the vast majority of gamers now deeply respect Hello Games.

I've actually been playing No Man's Sky since the very first version of the game, so I've seen how much it has improved over time. I always respected Hello Games just because they were pioneers in the field of procedurally generated planets and as a programmer I understood how difficult it was to do what they did with such a small team.

I don't play NMS much these days, I've moved onto Star Citizen now and some of the technical feats in that game are truly amazing. But it's their lofty goals for Star Citizen which also create the same sort of criticism and skepticism that exists for NMS. It's now starting to reach the point though where even the skeptics are starting to be converted.

I always felt No Man's Sky is an experiment in nihilism. The goal of the game is to see how long you can go before you realize everything is pointless, then how long you can endure once you've reached that point.

I hit this moment with a lot of games i play , i hate the feeling.

I grinded 3 months in RDR2 online everyday to gain around 600 gold so i could buy every future expansion.

Enough to last the next 10 years of content with the turtle speed rockstar produces RDR 2 content.

It killed my motivation to play the game after so much grinding.

now i can't even touch the game , they released new content few weeks back.

Played for 10 minutes then i felt the sudden need to just Alt F4.

I get addicted to games quick and i am a grinder , its a bad combo.

Bought Car mechanic simulator the other day , after doing the odd jobs i got enough funds to start restoring and selling cars.

Had a few days off but went totally nuts playing atleast 12 hours a day.

You don't seem to know the difference between a hyped game and unfinished game.

LOL top 100 ... Anything outside top ten is not relevant .

Marketing was misleading ? The game was unfished. The whole company LIED and was misleading .

Cyberpunk and NMS did the same thing. Sell an unfinished game. Use the money from the fraud sales to finally step up and finish the game...

Hello Games is done. Project Red is done. They will never recover what are you talking about vASt MaJoRiTy Of gAmErS ... RESPECT hELLO GAMES?

If that was true why isn't these vast majority of gamers playing the trash game ? Why is the player count so low ? What kinda respect is that ?

The truth is vast majoirty of gamers don't care about no mans sky ..... its updates nor hello games.

Stop making things up . Game is trash , company is trash and it will never be anything of value. It will fade and die hopefully with the lying company
