I say they should get on with it.
Over 20 years ago I played a very cool VR shooter game at a place in France named Futuroscope. Most of the other stuff there: 3D movies, giant HD
screens have become normal. But VR is still just developing as something of a novelty.
The fact is I doubt that Zucks or any of his pals have anything like the programming skills or creative vision to pull it off. When you think about it
Facebook Twitter Insta etc are not complicated or novel at all. They contain no more technology than ATS. Just sharing words videos and pictures in
various columns. Twitter intentionally limits itself to a handful of characters.
To create a shared virtual world like this has been a staple of Sci-Fi for decades. It's just like when you hear Elon going on about building a base
on Mars. It sounds cool, but when you look in to it, all he's doing is launching near Earth rockets to make money for telecom companies.
We're no closer to this stuff than we were in the 90's.
