Yeah and let's not forget all of the Kurdish allies Trump flew to safety, right?

Oh, wait. He left them to be slaughtered.

F*ck yes we're trying.

Were the Kurds first repeatedly warned to stop using the equipment we gave them in attacks on Turkey?

Can't even get a Whataboutism right.

You can't really disagree with cold hard facts. We gave the Afghani military billions of dollars worth of equipment to use to defend against the Taliban, including the WorkMaxx trucks, MRAPs, uparmored HMMVEEs you mentioned and more.

You can't really argue with facts. As you stated, we let them USE equipment AGAINST the Taliban. However now we have left that equipment TO the Taliban. Kind of antithetical to it being used against the Taliban.

There's a big difference between consumer "off the shelf" drones and Predator and Osprey drones.

You seem to be confused when it comes to who is using what, even though you stated that equipment was used against the Taliban.

I'm sorry but it just disgusts me to see our nation being run by an inept, cowardly administration that has no remorse when it comes to throwing away 20 years of blood and sacrifice.

You may be okay with surrendering to and arming terrorist but I'm not.

Yes they destroyed the equipment at Bagram which ironically was the easiest to move out with just some planning. He could not have bungled this worse if he tried. the moment they started trying to take territory in april he should have hit them and not let this momentum get started. Just one of his many mistakes

We've been destroying equipment since at least May.

Do you remember what was so special about May?

Was anything supposed to be left after May?

What month are we in now?

He is trying, this is no mistake or accident.

No comment on giving the Taliban a list of Afghans who were allies as well as some American citizens? But hey I guess we’ll get back to our circle jerk. Shouldn’t you be getting back under someone’s desk?…

We gave it to them. Not "let them use it" like we expected it back in good working order. It was Afghani equipment. Is it shameful that they abandoned a majority of it? Absolutely. Did we have anything to do with it? Only through our incredibly botched withdrawal, but ultimately it was the Afghani military that abandoned the majority of it.

The Taliban does not have any Predator drones or its derivatives. The USAF retired the Predator in 2018, it may be worth mentioning. The Osprey is not a drone, but they don't have any of those either.

At worst for rotary craft they have some Blackhawks possibly some Chinooks we left behind. I doubt all of the Afghani Little Birds are flyable anyway, as the Afghani Air Force did not have the best readiness in recent times. Those airframes are designs over forty to nearly sixty years old and are a far cry in capabilities from what you mentioned.

Ha! Listen Biden sucks, so did trump. However trump wasn’t directly responsible for an attack that killed American servicemen. Nor did he hand out a list of our allies to the enemy.

It's okay though. ISIS is defeated 100%, so at least we don't have to worry about that.

Oh. Wait...

This is the other thing i find funny. Biden wants to claim his hands were tied by Trump agreeing to pull out in may. And yet he didn't decide to pull out until April as he admitted. He then decides to extend the date without talking to anyone i might add so no negotiations with Afgans or Taliban. So he just ignored the peace treaty completely but wants to claim he was bound by it?

I think its obvious he wasnt as he followed none of the terms of the agreement so its a lame attempt to shift blame

It was never going to be easy.

Ten Marines. Two soldiers. One sailor. Let's hope they're the last to die in that god forsaken land.

I worked for KBR in Afghanistan for quite a few contracts as a Mechanical Repair specialist as well as MVM in country as a contractor and worked on a lot of the Afghan Army equipment and armor while in country.

All equipment that the Afghan Army was using was on a USE basis and none of it had officially been transfered to the Afghan government until June of 2021 as that was the timeframe that had been set for our withdrawal in May and at that point the Afghan Government would assume full responsibility for operations and equipment.

In the three months from April to June 2021, the US handed over to the Afghan National Defense and Security forces (ANDSF) six A-29 light attack aircraft, 174 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (Humvees), about 10,000 2.75 inch high-explosive rockets, 61,000 40-mm high explosive rounds, 9,00,000 rounds of .50 calibre ammo, and 20,15,600 rounds of 7.62 mm ammo.

They also have much more airpower than you are mentioning, much more than "a few Blackhawks and Chinooks" as they have 50 MD530 Little Bird light attack helicopters.

The Afghan Air Force has 45 UH-60 Blackhawks, 50 MD-530s, and 56 Mi-17 helicopters besides its 30 A-29 Super Tucano fighters, 3 C-130 Hercules transport aircraft, C-208 utility aircraft, and AC-208 fixed-wing aircraft. All of that is in the hands of the Taliban now.

You can say what you want, that's your right and you're free to exercise it and I encourage it, however this is an unprecedented arming of our enemy and a surrender of our assets.

I take it you aren't aware of the small "osprey style" drones that have been produced since around 2017 that are now in use by our troops.

The Army Research Lab was designing them as far back as 2016 and several companies have putvarious models into production.

Anyone who has been in Afghanistan and had any experience with the Afghan Army soldiers should have known they would abandon. The only reason they were fighting is because of the sickening amount of pay they were receiving and once we were pulling out they would be paid by the Afghani government, which wouldn't be anywhere near what we were paying them.

They had no reason to stay and fight and I would be willing to bet from my experience that as soon as they left the army they put on their throbes.

Those Little Bird airframes are good enough for our operators to use them so I wouldn't knock them. In fact they just approved to keep the MD500 frame and approved a budget for improvements and avionic upgrades specifically for our operator community.
