The U.S. Supreme Court slapped down a key BIDEN-HARRIS Immigration policy yesterday.

President Trump had it set up for incoming migrants to WAIT IN MEXICO for their hearing before a U.S. Immigration judge.

Harris-Biden was allowing the migrants to wait in detention centers on U.S. soil, and in hotels located in El Paso, Phoenix, and other U.S. cities.

WASHINGTON, Aug 24 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday denied President Joe Biden's bid to rescind an immigration policy implemented by his predecessor, Donald Trump, that forced thousands of asylum seekers to stay in Mexico awaiting U.S. hearings.

The court, with three liberal justices dissenting, rejected the Biden administration's effort to block a Texas-based judge's ruling requiring the government to revive Trump's "remain in Mexico" policy, formally known as the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) program.

The brief order by the justices means that U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk's ruling now goes into effect.

The Department of Homeland Security said in a statement it regretted the Supreme Court's decision and would continue to "vigorously challenge" the district court ruling.

As the appeals process continues, it said, the agency will comply with the order "in good faith" and has begun discussions with Mexico.

This SCOTUS ruling will make a lot of citizens and officials in states bordering Mexico very happy.

It's good to see the Supreme Court still "working" during the Summer this year. They're usually quiet between June and October.

I think more SCOTUS decisions have gone AGAINST the young Biden Administration, than FOR the Biden Administration.

SCOTUS has to get the people's favor somehow.. because like it or not they are wrapped up in the mess the Biden administration has done... And are just as guilty for going along with it.

Hell, there are a lot of branches of our government that need pruning, it's a shame cause I grew up where there was always the belief the FBI and DOJ as well as SCOTUS were our ultimate checks and balances, against the politicians throw in the media as another institution we can no longer trust.

It must be maddening for the tens of thousands of rank-and-file workers at the Department of Homeland Security to be yanked around so much.

Last year, the DHS Director explained why he was so thankful to have the "Wait in Mexico" Immigration policy.

Today's DHS Director stated how disappointed he is by the SCOTUS reversing Biden's "Wait in the USA" policy, and reverting it back to "Wait in Mexico".

Most likely they will send Kamala back to Mexico to re-negotiate the agreement Mexico had with the USA under President Trump.

And, most likely, the re-negotiation will take YEARS.

Go SCOTUS! It looks like they are finally waking up, which is great because there are some very important questions which will have to be answered in the very near future.

What about the roughly one million infected illegals already bused/flown all over the country? They haven't been ordered to appear for hearings, not that they have the honor to show up anyway.

I was wracking my brain trying to understand the liberal/leftist perspective for fighting the "Remain in Mexico" policy.

On the surface, what I sense in liberal opposition, is that there is no desire to turn any illegal immigrants away...at all...for any reason. Getting the illegal immigrants physically inside the border just makes their absorption into the population that much easier and more of a likelihood. After all, if the illegals wait for hearings inside Mexico, they can't be shipped/bused/flown around the COTUS for "hearings" or "health services".

Furthermore, for illegals held inside the COTUS, that means that thanks to the existence of immigration bail bonds, there is a possibility for illegals to be released on bail, and then (surprise!) never show up again for their hearings.

LOOPHOLE ALERT!

If you hadn't heard of such a thing as "immigration bail bonds", and like me, you are outraged that such a service even exists, then you are in good company.

Again, if the liberals can get the illegals INSIDE the border, not forcing them to await hearings outside the COTUS, and things such "immigration bail bonds" exist, VOILA, you just created a very good way to game the system.

Making vulnerable people wait to access asylum protection and due process in Mexico is concerning for a number of reasons. First, this policy leaves many vulnerable asylum seekers to wait in dangerous and unsafe circumstances, including those in which their lives may be at risk, they may not be able to access health services and humanitarian aid, and they may face deportation.

Second, making asylum seekers wait in Mexico to access protection is deeply concerning from a due process and access to justice perspective. This policy impacts those people who have shown that they have a credible fear of persecution; nonetheless, the policy will make them wait in Mexico without access to family, legal, or social support. Undoubtedly, this will make it more difficult for those subject to the policy to successfully assert their asylum claims and will also risk retraumatizing them in the unsafe conditions in which they are forced to wait.

Just more of the same tired, worn-out garbage: framing the issue as a political one instead of an economic one.

The vast VAST majority of the illegals crossing the border are doing it for economic reasons. Nobody should be surprised. Can you blame people for trying to better their economic circumstances? Probably not, but breaking US law to enter the country illegally engenders very little sympathy.

To counteract the fact that people are breaking US law to get a bit more money in their pocket, and the lack of sympathy that generates in the US public, the liberals concoct the "political/fear of prosecution/ideological persecution" angle.

So, the illegals aren't trying to get more money, they're fleeing prosecution. But just one question. If illegals are predominantly fleeing prosecution and not simply trying to improve their economic situation.....who is following up with their country of origin (Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico, etc) to ascertain that, you know, they're not being prosecuted for damn good reason (drug smuggling, assault, theft, you know that kind of thing)..

There are very few defensible positions in the liberal stance on just letting everyone into the Southern border. They know this, and simply fall back on what they know to circumvent lack of wide public support for open borders, which is dirty tricks and hacks, for example fighting to hold illegals inside the COTUS (instead of back in Mexico) for their immigration hearings, and then thanks to "immigration bail bonds" existing,

WHOOP-SIE! "Pedro was //supposed// to come back to court last month for his hearing, but hmmm, he never showed up after posting bail. Who'd have figured..."

My first thought reading this also. They will find a way to figure out the right verbiage to possibly get it tied up in court for a couple of years like the rent mandate. I'm not taking your bet.

Let's see what the Mexican Military does.

And let's see how many more "undetected" migrants come in over "alternative" routes and methods.

Joe Biden's DHS is running an experiment. They are trusting those here illegally to do the right thing and show up for their court date in their assigned city. I think taxpayers are funding their survival in various towns until they are legal, or ejected, whichever comes first.
