You have to understand what tainted skin is in the Chinese culture. Look around you, how many of your leaders even from the local level have abandon your right to freedom to EARN AN HONEST LIVING. . Tainted skin is like a snake that pretends it is not poisonous to your movement of thoughts of freedom to be oneselves.

There is no right to earn a honest living. Never has been. There's no right to a job either.

This is the flaw in peoples heads. I am self employed but have worked as an employee. I know both sides of the table. Let me tell you, if you want to reach something in life, counting on some job to earn a honest living (whatever that means) will not bring you far most of the times.

People complain about "slaving" a 9 to 5? Really? Here we work 8 to 5 or 7 to 5 on a standard basis. Quit it! Do something on your own but stop complaining. Stop blaming politicians about the choices you make in your life. Ask FCD how long his day is.

Go self employed and take some risk, then you will shake your head at everyone complaining that they have a 9-5 and shut off their brain while they walk in and out of the door with zero responsibilities.

Then you will have the luxury to be your own boss, if you're competent at what you do, you will succeed. I worked my ass off the last weeks going way past 60h/weeks and you know what? This week I chill, because I can.

The you is not adressed at you musicmagic, but the readers who complain about their 9-5 but change nothing, complain about their salary but change nothing. Victims.

Thank you. I've been self - employed most of my working career. For me, not that I was all successful, but buying 2 homes in southern California and over 640 acres of land in Barstow and Apple Valley gave me the " I can do it with my limited education '.

So hey! Thanks for your post.

It sounds like go to college get an education.

not everyone is meant for college.

much less afford an education.

going self employed depending on what you do no matter how good you are at it is not always the best path.

I took the freedom to collapse some empty lines for better overview. Yes I agree, I wasn't saying everyone and of course people have different skills, different educations. Don't get me wrong, someone without college is as valuable as a human than anyone else. Smart or not, there are many different types of smarts.

My comment was, admittedly slightly offtopic, rant about those that complain but change nothing. I wasn' the only one my foster dad took under his wings. There was a guy, analphabetic, very social awkward but a good soul and smart. This guy, I met him months after the funeral, today, he's a big dude in a big company. Sure it's not his company but he came from low and now he earns big time.

He was as devastated as me but I could see he turned from a boyish teenager to a real man that people respect. And make no mistake, he had that helping hand, yes, but don't think he was cut any slack.

The gist of my post is, if people complain about their salary and change nothing about their life, it's their fault.

Nothing to excuse, your points are valid and shone light on my post from a side I did not provide.

Work? I’ll say the majority of westerners know not what work is, well, hard work anyway. Case in point...
This is from someone self-employed.

For those who eat fish and scallops and growl at the price, take just one trip offshore with me, to shovel rocks, snow, and pound ice.
After “one good beating” on a cold winters day,
I guarantee, you’ll never again, gripe about the fisherman’s pay!

By the way, this person did not graduate from High School and was never given anything but he sure did ok in America.

^- this a hundred times.

Had a customer that liked to watch (never again!) the assembly. When I finished, he asked me like "and I paid xxxx€ for this?, it took you x hours"

Then I told him that the calipers and torque wrenches he has seen me using are more worth than the engine itself. What he didn't see was that I had to weight in and modify almost every #ty piston, he brought, took longer than the assembly itself and normally I should charge more.

The scale to measure rod balance, the honing stones and the calibration of said honing eal, maintenance and service of all the machines and tools to keep them inside the tolerances.

The booklet he got with his engine with all tolerances, torque values, the process of measuring and documenting, nothing of that he has seen but trying to be a smart ass about it.

I bit my tongue but I was about to say then why don't you do it yourself??

Some people really...

Looks like he's turning green trying to keep up with the teleprompter.

They've been giving him speedballs or something to try to cover up the dementia addled brain.

when has any leader EVER had the good of the people as a priority, sorry for my cynasism but no politician has ever done anything altruistic

Self serving shysters, if you believe anything they say they have already won the battle for your mind

So I agree with your description of the current lot but I would also apply it to every politician throughout time and any future idiots.
