Encounter, spirit or hallucination experienced by two ppl?

It happened an year ago. I woke up in the middle of the night and there was a glowing white figure next to the fridge. I have insomnia and sometimes I don't sleep for 30 hours straight and my eyes start to make tricks and with easy I categorized the event as such. I have closed my eyes and without any fear went back to sleep.

In the morning my mom asked me if I saw the glowing white figure next to the fridge.

This time I was paralyzed by fear. She sensed this and told me to pray to Jesus if this happens again.
She is deeply religious orthodox Christian. Never miss a fastening, go to church few times per week. Never took any kind of drugs.

Any idea what it can be ?

We live in a concrete apartment. The city is not famous for ghost stories like Vidin. No crystal around. No violent deaths and I doubt it was a ghost.

I'm still a bit more in the "dunno, but things we call spirits exist" camp even though I've experienced more than a few indications of something with sinister intent.

That said, I don't see how mom's views can hurt too much if one disregards the judgemental, hostile, blindly dogmatic add-ons to the basic stuff that figure taught.

I won't try to guess what the entity was. Sane, rational people see these things. People I know have seen similar things. It wasn't just your imagination if your mom saw it too.

Do you recall how long you witnessed it? Was it just a second or two? Longer?

Basically agree there old friend. Having said that, if you ever feel such sinister intent again try Simeon's mom's advice---wowzers is all I can say as to the effect in my own experience.

I would not call it a hallucination that's for sure...

In my experience the name of Jesus makes these things go away.

However a white glow does not sound like an evil or harmful spirit....

maybe It was an angel?

Just for a second or two.

I don't put labels on ppl, like insane or normal. The reality is so flexible and it's hard to understand who lost connection with it.

I am not religious. We are very different and I don't wish to ask her, she will tell her ordinary devils, angels and demons.

Edit: since your confirm her words I will need to listen to. Still I do not know was is sinister or not. I felt nothing during the night.

I lived in a truly haunted house once. I used to say, when the spirits made themselves known, “I have God, and God has me, so you need to leave now.” Things always quieted down then.

Of course I had to believe it in my heart, too.

I second that!

As a Christian myself (who hasn't seen any manifestation of the paranormal or spiritual), I find it interesting that there are many reports of these events dissipating when a deity is evoked.

Funny that I don't think God existing is strange, but I do think it is VERY strange that ETs/IDs would respond to human notions of God. I wish this could be used as evidence that God exists, but it could be that the 'creatures' recognize that when a person calls out to their deity, this means they are in much distress, and maybe the creature are benevolent in some way, so they back off (kinda like how a kid closes their eyes to avoid being observed by an adult, and the adult plays along).

The answer to your question is yes, two people can have the same hallucination.

Especially people who live together and share experiences during the day. All it takes is for you to watch a TV with someone once, and you have a shared experience and similar images in head. Even more so for people related to each other as you may have the same undiagnosed psyhosis. It can even happen just coincidentally.

Human is very suggestible by nature. It may seem like glowing white figure is something very specific, but it's really not. You could see dozen completely different images and describe them all with those three words. The moment you start to discuss it with another person you begin to affect their memories with whatever you are describing. Memory is incredibly fragile.

Also... an angel/devil/alien sneaking around the fridge in the middle of the night is the most underwhelming religious/extraterrestrial event you could think off, so let's just hope it's not the case...

So uh are you sure the fridge wasnt just open? I mean. Most fridges have lights. Glowing "figure" next to it in a sleep haze...

If it happened a year ago basicly anything could have happened. Memory is a thing in constant flux.
