Now the title is not mine. Rather Captain Disillusion's on one of his YouTube videos. I really enjoyed his video, and although several years old worth showing here I believe.

I used to come to this forum from time to time in the past and joined recently. But really haven't been logging in or even visiting the site lately. True it is entertainment, although goofy and silly a lot of the times. But I have come to a realization about certain things on sites like this. There is too much speculation and misinformation and outright lies in many conspiracy theories.

Let's take one of the biggest ones out there, the Freemasons. They are a secret society, and no doubt they are filled with false religious dogma, such as one must believe in an "immortal soul" something that goes against what the Bible teaches, but they aren't out to rule the world. There are a plethora of Freemasons on this website that could tell you that.

I really like whenever something bad happens, natural disaster, lone gunman, terrorist attack, you name it, someone pops up with a conspiracy theory on why it happened. Many times with no proof, just speculation laid on speculation. Critics! Everyone is a critic. So critical you can put the truth in front of their eyes and they won't believe it. They have to break it down and show how some secret cabal is behind it all.



If you are not familiar with his videos you might want to check them out. This man and whatever team he may work with are extremely talented, smart, and rational.

Protect Yourself From Misinformation

It is amazing how much misinformation is going around on conspiracy websites about the current pandemic. And basically any other current event that ever happens. And a lot of it is because people love to believe the lies. For example just because of the source of the website of this article many will not read further, basing their prejudices against it on lies and slanders they believe in.

There was a reason a lot of people didn't believe Jesus was the Christ when he was on earth. Many people lied about him, and people listened to and believed those lies, such as he was a drunkard, a demon-possessed man, and so on. If they would have taken the time to know the facts they would have seen that Jesus was performing miracles by the power of God's holy spirit. He did not get drunk. All that he did was according to his Father's will.

Others may have rejected Jesus as the Christ because he was condemned to death as a criminal. But if they would have taken the time to investigate the matter they would have seen that Jesus was innocent of all the charges, the very trial that was held was an illegal one! (it was not lawful for the Sanhedrin to convene at night) and it admitted false testimony as evidence. Jesus was innocent of all charges. We can go on and on to why people rejected the son of God.

It is imperative to not be naive and believe every word you hear. You need to investigate, first-hand accounts, eye-witness testimony, impartial news sources.

I have come to the conclusion that most conspiracy theories are false. They are cooked up based on paranoia and fear from people not mentally stable or with hidden agendas and based on speculation and lies most of the time.

I think I am going to finally say sayonara to this poisonous form of entertainment. This website has become so chalk full of threads on the idea that the world-wide Covid-19 pandemic and the measures governments are taking to try and protect people and get it under control are all some kind of hidden agenda from evil people. One has to step back and look at things rationally.

It is intriguing how you use Jesus Christ, whom you say was falsely accused of many things (some of which you mention) by the people IN CHARGE OF THE NARRATIVE of the day. Why did you even bring up a religious figure, whom you said was unjustly accused by the "mainstream authorities of the day" (not your quotations) into your argument against exploring conspiracy theory? Seriously, that was nonsensical. Your very argument defeats itself.

Actually the world power at the time, the Romans, who examined Jesus found nothing wrong with him. Pilate clearly stated that he found nothing wrong with Jesus Christ. Neither did King Herod. Now it was the religious leaders who were lying. And they are still the ones that are lying today. That has not changed.

Well they grafted DNA into the spike protein of a bat corona virus in a lab and it escaped or was released. So, at the very least there was an evil cabal of scientists playing around with creating even more virulent viruses. But, if you done with conspiracy so be it. I wish you well.

Okay, interesting approach that does not change the fact that the "powers that be" aligned to kill an (as you say) innocent man. First of all, I would suggest that authorities agreeing to kill an innocent man should be problematic to any coherent thought process. Also, I think you are neglecting the power of the Hellenistic Sanhedrin Court who were Sadducees, NOT Pharisees or Zionists. The Sadducees were basically close to Hellenized atheists in the power structure of the day, who denied the afterlife. I think you should look into your argument a bit deeper. The Sadducces began as the "heir apaprent" of the Zionist (with religious overtones) Maccabees. But by the time of Jesus, the Sadducees (comprising the "official religious" high court) were concerned about nothing but preserving the status quo in terms of politics and economics and social structure- to keep themselves in power. The Sadducee high court were as mainstream and pro-Roman as it got in that time, and in that place. Every action they took was to maintain the status quo to ensure their power, and to find a scapegoat such as Jesus. The Romans would easily sacrifice one innocent man to preserve the status quo and their power. And the Romans perceived that a crucial arm of their power was the "mainstream" Hellenistic Sadducee high court and King Herod. Given all that, I don't see how your argument holds up as the only group left with (minor) political power was the Pharisees. Basically, again: your argument destroys itself. The Powers That Were aligned to kill Jesus. Political, secular "mainstream" religious, and religious. The "conspiracy" of the day (that defied all religious AND political power) was that Jesus was innocent.

Nighthawk, I am sure that you are a well meaning and nice person.... and I get it.... don't offend anyone, and especially if it hurts to doubt those who promise to protect and to pay us.

I understand.

Cognitive dissonance is a real thing, and it hurts.

But avoiding the pain of reconciling cognitive dissonance is not going increase your ability to help other people or yourself.

Please, do NOT become a student of avoidance. If you feel the pain of cognitive dissonance now, you have no idea where the pain of becoming an ostrich-head-in-the-sand is gonna take you. Wish you the best. Always remember: Love is paramount, as is protecting those around us.

It's probably important to note the the "freemason" in the US are very different from elsewhere. I've got a couple of hundred years of masons in my family and the ones outside of the US essentially disavow US freemasonry and their lodges required them to have special permission to have any contact with US lodges.

It's ironic how you go off about a sky fairy and his imaginary offspring, as if you have undeniable proof, and then make a statement like this:

Perhaps MLK, George Floyd or any current popular figure would have been better examples? Maybe other pop icons like Charlie Sheen or Brittany Spears would have served this purpose. Regardless of the truth of the story of Christ, it was just an example most people would understand. He could have used King Arthur or Robin Hood to get his point across.

That point being that lies, rumors and propaganda are often excepted by the public and acted upon. This obscures the truth of the matter and promotes some agenda by the ones spreading the false information.

The link in the opening post about misinformation is from the Jehovah Witness........so that's why the op goes on about Jesus.....and not Britney or George etc.
