And im sitting here thinking we need to expand education and push students more to keep up with our international "rivals".
Its crazy how far apart people can be in viewpoint.
.
Boyle said in an emailed statement that suspending the reading, writing and math proficiency requirements while the state develops new graduation standards will benefit “Oregon’s Black, Latino, Latina, Latinx, Indigenous, Asian, Pacific Islander, Tribal, and students of color.” “Leaders from those communities have advocated time and again for equitable graduation standards, along with expanded learning opportunities and supports,” Boyle wrote.
.
Lawmakers and the governor did not pass any major expansion of learning opportunities or supports for Black, Indigenous and students of color during this year’s legislative session.

White privilege is a complete crock of the proverbial.
However, this statement sounds as if you are implying that black people are all incapable of living in a 'community' and are not civilized?
Accusations of white privilege and repudiations of it are not an excuse for racist slurs and insinuations.

Nailed it.
It's more important for Dems to indoctrinate the students that white people are racist than to have the students be able to read write and do math. Think about that.

Ridiculous.
ANY student unable to do those basic tasks should be set aside for early entry into the workforce, no more education and no advanced education unless you pay for it out of your own pocket. Wasting tax payer money on perpetual and habitual underachievers is ridiculous.
Affirmative action...lowering standards in one category at a time 🙄
How much time is wasted on students who don't want to learn/don't want to be there compared to those who do want to be there? I don't care what their excuse is. IF an individual can't keep up, leave them behind. Stop dumbing down the rest of the group to keep up with a few low hanging fruit. Cut them loose.
