...and yet, government warnings on Ethylene Oxide sterilized masks are still a thing.

The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) states that “Ethylene oxide is not recommended as a crisis strategy [for cleaning filtering face piece respirators] as it may be harmful to the wearer.”

So, where are you getting that it's actually being so used?

Are we talking about disposable masks that are sterilised at the point of manufacturing with ethylene oxide or staff using EO sterilisation to clean masks and respirators?

That link is saying that using site based EO sterilisation equipment is not approved for the cleaning of respirators or masks?

In 2009/2010 FAUCI and CDC said Face Masks were a waste of time against viruses. They delivered more harm than good to the general public. (Lowered Blood Oxygen = Lethargy / Mental Dullness)

Fast forward to 2020, FAUCI / CDC / BIDEN push wearing masks 24/7 - 365, no matter what the status is of Covid-19 hospitalizations and deaths.

HUGE RED FLAG to anyone who is paying attention, and cares about their family.

Well, then you're probably not going to like the chemicals in the air around your car when you are sitting in traffic. Might as well get rid of cars. And it's probably not a good idea to take kids anywhere.

Mental dullness? Hmmmm. There's a lot of it about. Especially on here.

Some people like to see evidence that something works and isn't causing more harm than good. We haven't seen that yet.

Some people just believe whatever they're told to believe, even if it makes no sense.

Then, when they can't argue the science, they insinuate we're stupid.

That is for point of use sterialization. Not at the factory which is at least weeks between sterialization and use.

Notice the words “crisis strategy”, that means reusing masks.

Wonder how the amounts compare to a night of partying.

Carcinogenic compounds in alcoholic beverages: an update

The consumption of alcoholic beverages has been classified as carcinogenic to humans by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) since 1988. More recently, in 2010, ethanol as the major constituent of alcoholic beverages and its metabolite acetaldehyde were also classified as carcinogenic to humans.

Would you or anyone else be willing to automatically trust a label on a box of masks made in China ?

Remember that baby milk scandal in China ? 😃

yes sir, studies YOU can believe in without question right ? 🤣

Fact check: Masks won't give you lung cancer; some masks do include chemicals

Early on in the pandemic, Illinois-based medical supplies manufacturer and distributor Medline Industries sought FDA approval to resterilize used masks using ethylene oxide. Crucially, however, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends against using ethylene oxide for resterilizing single-use filtering face piece respirators — masks like N95s — due to risks associated with the chemical. 3M, which manufactures masks and personal protective equipment, also warns against using ethylene oxide to decontaminate masks because wearers could breathe in residual amounts.

Correct...producers have guidelines of up to 15 days between sterilization process and sale for safety.
Federal agencies are practically unanimous in their position that EO is a dangerous carcinogen used in the sterilization process.

My OP does not say ALL masks are dangerous due to the EO sterilization process.
Nor does it say don't wear 'em...if you're dead set on so doing.

There are certainly many alternatives available to those who seek to wear useless masks...and I only suggest mask-wearers explore the safest options for their own personal safety.

Wear a mask...don't wear a mask. IDC.
It should be an individual choice...Yes?

However, if you do choose to wear one...you may wish to consider choosing one not fumigated with cancer-causing chemicals.
Especially if you plan on wearing it for extended periods of time.

Absolutely.
Consider Oxygen deprivation and CO2 build up, as well.
Long term mask wearing is one of the stupidest things one can do...voluntarily...or otherwise.

The majority of all medical devices, surgical equipment, catheters, needles, etc. are sterilized using either EtO or Gamma.

Like others said, EtO is an evaporative gas process and does not leave "residue" on masks.

And yet people still smoke a pack or more a day, use all kinds of makeup, hair dye, and cleaning supplies, and drink soda....if you're so worried, wear (and regularly wash) a thick cloth mask. Wash your hands. Grow up.

I wonder how many surgeons have contracted cancer from the masks they wear?

My grandfather was an established neuro-surgeon, he died from colon cancer. I have an aunt who was a RN and she died of a brain tumor

Because they wore masks? What's your point?
