I can't really say much more, except that these are basically copies of the Kalashnikov (AK47).
About 1979 the designs changed a bit.
Firstly the white South African conscripts were generally larger.
So, the stock became longer and bigger.
When they were made shorter for the Zulus, the stock was made substantially shorter.
Also, earlier models had a tripod.
Hey, apparently there's still a wire-cutter and a bottle-opener.
