I wonder if it was lighting or maybe more likely a Direct Energy Weapon?

While direct energy weapon seems more likely that divine intervention, I have since learned that a very brief storm came together just long enough to strike the mural, then dissipated.

Of course, I don’t know how D.E.W.s work, they seem do seem more likely than divine intervention.
But maybe it’s just the biggest coincidence ever.
