My point about this thread is how Japanese TV is creating an image of weak and feminine young Japanese men

Maybe the feminine young men aren’t the weak ones…
Just something to ponder.

How about letting everybody express themselves how they want to?

K-pop is trending, Harry Styles is rocking dresses on the cover of Vogue...so what?

Remember Goths? Emo's? Big hair 80's ripped jeans? Mullets!?!

We all made fools of our self's when we were young and looking for an identity.

Stop judging the next gen, it makes you look old.

Google single male Asian and you find many articles about various studies all stating how young Asian men are twice as likely to be single and not dating than female Asians in North America.

I am sure that if you read all those articles you would have found a link between Hikikomori (acute social withdrawal), increasing stress of modern day life and online behavior.

I have 4 teenager at home and I am amazed at how their social life compares to mine. When I was 15 I would be going places (Saturday night disco etc) to meet up, my kids don't need to leave the house.

I like freaks and weirdo's.
I like people being different.
I like people expressing themselves how they want.
I like people who set out to shock, it makes us question ourselves.

I don't like the emasculation of the male species.
I don't like soy boys.
I don't like lgbtiqcapgngfnba+ - ?? - propaganda being rammed down my throat at every opportunity.
I don't like people trying to make me feel and think there is something 'wrong' with me for being a traditional, heterosexual male.

Now that I've said that I would just like to point out that Japan is renowned for having fetishes on absolutely anything and everything.
The one place one earth I want to go to more than anywhere else.

That's been going on in the states for years.

And the lipstick thing for men in Japan has been a thing for years as well.

K-pop has been a big part of my family life for a couple of years now and I almost have to learn Korean if I want to communicate with my two daughters...lol

It's a billion dollar industry and it's big!! Not just BTS but all the other groups, there are literally thousands...(no dad, that's not BTS, it's NTC! They have 23 members and their names are...blabla)

I have forced myself to take an interest if only to stay a little in touch and I must say it's not all bad. The industry behind it is evil, don't get me wrong but the music can sometimes even be enjoyable.

But after k-pop came k-beauty, k-drama etc..

My oldest daughter has been a big fan of k- and c-drama (Korean and Chinese) for some time now and the especially BL...know what BL is? It's Boy Love....drama series centered around some Asian gay dudes.

It kind of goes over my head why a teenage girl would want to have posters in her room of actors who play gay characters but such is life.

I just saying that Japanese TV is out there in the open with the femininize of the male and its sad to also see on prime time tv.
Movies have an effect and so does tv. I use to go to Tarzan movies as child then go out in the woods to look for vines and spring water to drink. Yes, what I'm stating is a fact that it is wrong to have on TV Japanese young TV host saying silently, look at me, and follow my example if you are confused, go the path you want, but TV is marketing as way that it is normal behavior, which I and many in this country would disagree upon.

He is rich.

He is 'pandering' to an audience....its what pop/rock 'stars' have been doing for donkeys years now.

Not to my tastes....so I don't watch or listen to him.

Well, personally, I do not care how you dress. Whatever floats your boat.

But, If I was in the market for a new man, no way in hell one of those would be dating material.
I'm old school.
I want a real man. A Neanderthal, if you will.

You have to be able to at least kill a spider without squealing for pete's sake.
