Human remains found in wheel well of US military plane swarmed on tarmac in Kabul

The U.S. military confirmed Tuesday that human remains were found inside the wheel well of a C-17 military plane that was swarmed by people at the Kabul airport seeking to escape the Taliban.

Before the aircrew could offload the cargo, the aircraft was surrounded by hundreds of Afghan civilians who had breached the airport perimeter," Air Force spokeswoman Ann Stefanek said Tuesday.

Faced with a rapidly deteriorating security situation around the aircraft, the C-17 crew decided to depart the airfield as quickly as possible," she continued. "In addition to videos seen online and in press reports, human remains were discovered in the wheel well of the C-17 after it landed at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. The aircraft is currently impounded to provide time to collect the remains and inspect the aircraft before it is returned to flying status."

Earlier this year, one of them, Khairullah Khairkhwa, actually sat across the table from President Biden’s envoy to Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, in Moscow, where Khairkhwa was part of the official Taliban delegation that negotiated the final terms of the US withdrawal. Naysayers and how to deal with them

I hear people are stunned at my heroics. Stop it. I trained my boys for 20 years and will continue to do so. Unlike US troops, me and my army aren’t going to withdraw from Afghanistan. The Taliban need us. By the way, stop calling them the Talibans with an “s”; that is incorrect. They are plural on their own.

I like to believe I have taught them well. And one of the important lessons is that all work and no play makes Talib a dull boy. That is why they have their own Olympics, where they win all the medals in all the categories. Don’t be surprised when you see the humble future Taliban officials in dodging cars, on swings, bungee jumping, flying military helicopters or even on merry-go-round. Have you forgotten the time when they played football with the heads of the executed prisoners in Kabul soccer stadium? You don’t want them to return to those sporting days, do you? Yeah, I thought so too.

UK scientists behind the AstraZeneca Covid jab have given the first trial volunteers a new plague vaccine.
