I at times like to believe the word is ran by people so evil yet so calculatingly smart that opposition is useless because they are so deeply
entrenched with scheme upon scheme that they are always 10 moves ahead playing with loaded dice and a few cards in the sleeve. This is a terrifying
possibly the world is this way by design and we are fodder that serve a function we keep the light on. We pass butter if you will.
The alternative is no less concerning maybe even more concerning because it mean the world and the designs in it are just dumb luck subject to crumble
at any second and there is no grand scheme no elite cabal just stupid incompetent people from the bottom right up to the top.
“The main thing that I learned about conspiracy theory, is that conspiracy theorists believe in a conspiracy because that is more comforting. The
truth of the world is that it is actually chaotic. The truth is that it is not The Iluminati, or The Jewish Banking Conspiracy, or the Gray Alien
Theory.
The truth is far more frightening - Nobody is in control.
The world is rudderless”
-Alan Moore
Then it begs the question what’s worse stupidity or malice?
Stupidity is a more dangerous enemy of the good than malice. One may protest against evil; it can be exposed and, if need be, prevented by use of
force. Evil always carries within itself the germ of its own subversion in that it leaves behind in human beings at least a sense of unease. Against
stupidity we are defenseless. Neither protests nor the use of force accomplish anything here; reasons fall on deaf ears; facts that contradict one’s
prejudgment simply need not be believed – in such moments the stupid person even becomes critical – and when facts are irrefutable they are just
pushed aside as inconsequential, as incidental. In all this the stupid person, in contrast to the malicious one, is utterly self satisfied and, being
easily irritated, becomes dangerous by going on the attack. For that reason, greater caution is called for when dealing with a stupid person than with
a malicious one. Never again will we try to persuade the stupid person with reasons, for it is senseless and dangerous.
