I find it laughable that you think that conservatives will follow the constitution when it disagrees with their wants and needs.

Care to provide an example?

Or just making stuff up again?

this isn't about packing or expanding the supreme court, its about telling people that inconvenience isn't an excuse to not vote, you cant refuse to do something then demand something illegal to make it easier to rig votes as a consequence of voting being more convenient. the whole point of the system being inconvenient and slow is to limit ambitious people and prevent abuse, convenience is the enemy of democratic rule and democrats should be ashamed manipulating young peoples impatience and trying to make abusing the system easier.

want to make it easier for the poor or minorities? then why havent Democrats mobilized to such communities to facilitate transportation, or push to maintain bus routes, or to build rails to such areas, or built voting places nearby?

sure being overseas is fine to use mail in ballots but on American soil where we can control things to make voting easier? what excuse does anyone have?

Clearly you have NOT been paying attention then.

Dems and RINO"s who are R's pretending are trying to end this country any way they can.

Conservatives , mostly R' (not RINO's) with a few D's are for preserving the Republic, the COTUS and the Bill of Rights. If you missed that you are going to be wrong over and over with no way to recover.

Biden couldn't get election reform passed by Congress last week.

This week, the Supreme Court removes a major tool Democrats use for cheating.

Slowly but surely, Democrats see their chances of winning a Senate majority, and keeping their House majority, slip sliding away.

Maybe, we have another year before midterms.. with a Covid 22 variant we could see the return of a national fraudulent mail in voting scheme in which case they will not only stay in power but gain more seats.
Agree 100% Dr. Foul Cheese will be in full effect come midterms. Covid 2.0 operating system is rearing up for a nationwide lockdown that will ensure computer cast ballots keep ringing up for the Foolcats .

So when dems stack the court it's bad. But when repubs stack the court it's good?

what are you talking about?

"Having to identify one’s own polling place and then travel there to vote does not exceed the ‘usual burdens of voting,'" Justice Samuel Alito wrote in his opinion upholding the Arizona laws.

"usual burdens of voting"

To be fair, the general concept of standing in line for hours without refreshment or relief is fairly discouraging and doesn't exactly motivate me to participate in a voting process that isn't guaranteed to give me some degree of reward for my investment. And no, doing my patriotic duty by submitting a ballot doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies.

To be honest, if you aren't smart enough to pack a drink and a snack, knowing you live in a massively overpopulated district where voting takes hours, you really aren't the kind of person who should be making big boy decisions as it is, so perhaps this is all for the best.

Right. Cheating. Not at all like having Mitch McConnell deny Obama appointing a court member on the way out. But then allow Trump to appoint one when he was on the way out. Totally fair and balanced. No shenanigans at all.

As it turns out, Garland is a partisan douche bag, so we did well to not allow him a seat on the high court.

Except - the R's have never stacked the court?

Correct - not at all like the Senate doing what the Senate is allowed/required by the Constitution to do.

There is nothing in the Constitution that says the Senate must even allow a nominee a hearing, much less confirm them.

When Obama nominated Garland, the Rs controlled the Senate. Our Constitution in action.

But then allow Trump to appoint one when he was on the way out.

And again - the Senate was R controlled. This is the way our Constitution works.

Totally fair and balanced. No shenanigans at all.

Precisely. Were you complaining about something?

According to the White House, the new biggest Boogeyman on the block is voter suppression. It has replaced insurrection.

mobile.twitter.com...

Let's keep the White House chasing its tail. Right up to November 2022.

Again. McConnell quoted some rule about not appointing a judge in an election year. And then ignored that rule to get in a judge before Trump left office.

You're right, they are in charge. Dick move though.

And again, YOU are leaving out a pretty important part of the actual precedent.

Prez same as senate, get a vote in last year.

Prez and senate different, no vote in last year.

The dk move was by democrats, to convince their brainwashed supporters that Republicans were doing something new.

Completely brainwashed.

Yeah.

Those folks in Afghanistan, who were brought up already in thread, walked, in some cases, for several days in order to vote.

The fact that some Americans can't handle the notion of spending an hour or two in line to vote, is very sad. Pitiful, even.

Texas Governor Abbot should just declare that the Democrats must have resigned since they left. They left to avoid a vote on voter reform.

Hmmmm.

I wonder if Texas is one of those states where the governor can appoint temporary replacements for open positions?

It would be more entertaining to pile their stuff on the lawn from their offices and bar them from the building...while closing their expense accounts of course.

Maybe both?

That could be both entertaining, and productive.

(I don't know texas law, just having some fun)

Not sure if that was ever really true, but certainly isn't now.
