Missing Child Summer Wells

A massive search effort was launched after Summer Moon-Utah Wells was reported missing from her home in the Beech Creek community in Tennessee's Hawkins County at around 6.30 p.m. on June 15.

Bly also spoke about another family member who went missing more than a decade ago. Her sister, Rose Marie Bly, was last seen in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, in August 2009, according to The Charley Project. The case remains unsolved.

So this woman's child is currently missing. And her sister went missing in 2009.

A lot of people on other forums are saying the mother is suspicious... I have a different take...

Maybe a serial kidnapper/killer is targeting her family? I would love to hear other speculation on this case.

By applying the principle of parsimony i'd suggest the family are involved in some way.

Let's see what the investigation uncovers.

SOMEONE CALL LIAM NEESON NOW!

Honestly though, my money's on the family thinking they got away with it once, why not go for broke?

You don't get to name your kids moon unit or heavenly dune buggy or whatever unless you are:

a) stinking rich and out of touch with reality

b) in a cult

c) on drugs.

This is a family affair.

Your child is missing and the father says oh well haters gonna hate?

Her hair was cut so she wouldn't be recognized while being transported. That means she went with someone she knew or was told she can trust and wasn't hidden in the boot of a vehicle but sat in the car willingly or drugged.

One missing child is enough to destroy a family. A second one goes missing and what they are saying does not sound like the type of energy an innocent, extremely unlucky family would have.

The mother even says:

That's my baby and nobody would ever treat her like that as long as I was around.

What an odd statement, imo.

Anyway, you asked for speculation and I obliged.

Speculating along here...

Abusive family, aunt knew about it and comes to "rescue" the little kid...

fun fact about her aunt around the time she disappeared:

She frequently changes the length and style of her hair; at the time of her disappearance, her hair was cut in a chin-length bob. She may color her hair blonde or red.

Diving deeper into the aunt reveals a lot of trouble...

usually dressed casually since her main occupation was caring for two toddlers. Her two girls were 1 and 2 years old. She was described by everyone who knew her as a devoted mom.

Within three weeks of her disappearance, Bly’s newlywed husband filed for divorce, and it was not the first time. In September 2009, Larson requested a court order with the intention of ensuring Rose could not return and gain custody of the kids.

Bly had an active bench warrant for a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge, later amended to domestic abuse.

In 2010, Larson was granted sole custody of the two girls. According to a best friend from high school, Nicole Steele, who posted on the “Help Find Rose Bly” Facebook group,” Rose said her husband had told her he would never let her take the girls.

Off the three theories around her disappearance:

- Chris Larson, her ex-husband, is involved, despite a lack of evidence tying him to a crime.
- it’s possible Rose could have voluntarily left to start a new life.
- she encountered a stranger and fell victim to foul play.

If Rose started a new life, lost custody of her 2 girls it is plausible she took her little niece to get back what she once had.

Enough speculation, thanks for an interesting thread.
