Update: The last two recovered have been identified

97 deceased

One passed away at the hospital, the other 96, were recovered from the rubble. These are the last recovered victims.

Officially, they are not reporting any others until Identified and their family notified. As the site is now cleared, I don't see how any more can be located. They are still going through the rubble at another location.

I will be checking for new news daily but only posting when something new is revealed about this disaster. I was only able to find two articles on it in that were newly posted in the past 24 hours and we had not covered the information already. One was from CNN.

If anyone else finds something new, please go ahead and post it.

There is no official word on cause as the area is still being treated as a crime scene and the official engineering investigation of the cause of the collapse will not begin until it is no longer a crime scene.

There are some new videos about the evidence of what caused the collapse. This one brings up the question of weak concrete being used and not being built to plans is mentioned in an artical by the demolition company that brought down the stanging portion of this building. Also the palm trees that could have dammaged the pool deck by just being there and when they were removed. He also goes over new photos of the cleared out parking area and what they show.

Update: Bodycam video

The same engineer that did the above videos has collected and gone through the police body camera videos released just days ago. There is some information verifying the suspected damage that occured during the collapse but there is also screaming from the victoms. Not the ones in the collapse but the ones stranded in the still standing portion. Be careful if you are sensative to that.



No results on the official cause of this disaster yet.

Edit: This video shows that there was a fire alarm and it did go off before the main collapse because of the broken pipes in the parking area. Unfortunitally only blinking lights and the fire department knew about it because there did not seem to be any audio alarms installed which could have woke some and they could have evacuated.

Update: Inadequate engineering from the start

I found another recent video about the plans for this building and the evidence from the photos and videos. This is from another engineer and he brings up several places in the plans that are barely adequate for the building. The lack of safety factor and the plan changes may have lead to the shortening of the life expectancy of this building and its collapse. The video is a long one.
