Xbox + Bethesda have today made their E3 presentation showcasing their upcoming games , no mention of Starfield or TES 6 but as a lover of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games this was the highlight , developed by the original developer under Microsoft ownership and money this game could be huge when it releases next year.

Looks like they've gone back to Shadows of Chernobyl style with the anomalies and artistic design , brilliant !

The Outer Worlds 2 was the other highlight hopefully it will expand on the tech demo that was the original game , and tone down on some of the feminism.

I haven't stayed up to snuff on video games for about 30 years or so.
I have a standalone 'Robotron 2084' console that I will stomp anybody at.
Made it to the kill-screen 5 times.
Them's braggin' rights.

Hope it's as good as the first game, graphics be damned. Game had very minimal hand-holding.

Fallout 3 felt like a dumpster fire in comparison to that. Haven't played any recent games in either series but that game was actually fun, pretty easy to die though as the enemies were very accurate.

That looks pretty cool. I remember the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R game being fun. Like a creepy Russian version of fallout.

Loved stalker back in the day especially with mods, also remember modding the game files to give myself a suit of armour that made my character almost impervious to everything except the bleeding affect so that I could explore freely, great game world design, huge areas even if not true open world it did come very close to that feeling, buildings you could enter that were not just for show, enemy's with great AI, creepy and even truly scary moment's to be had.

You can find the original stalker free and also in many modified and updated flavours, before that my favourite was the old Operation Flash Point games (nothing like sneaking into a camp of one shot kill's you enemy's and taking them all down with an under powered silenced pistol and a janky old AK) and there was a lot in common between them in some way's.

I liked the original living ecosystem of the first game as well and there will to sacrifice arcade gameplay for something a bit more realistic, I had or have somewhere in an old holdall in one of my cupboards all three of the early stalker games.

The graphic's on this new version look better, not quite next gen but better, I hope they don't sacrifice too much for the console market by making it too arcade like though a little bit between the hardcore original and something a bit more first person shooter friendly would do nicely.

Also liked the outer world's but it was too short and over rated in my opinion and I was a bit disappointed but if the new game is bigger, lets you travel some more of the Galaxy and has more sensible quests then maybe, it was good but felt repetitive after a while and lacked some of what made New Vegas so good but that can be argued to be because they were concentrating on another game at the time and it was not there main project.

No mention of Starfield? It was literally the first thing revealed after Todd walked out.

To be fair I am not holding out too much hope for that game, especially since it will be using the gamebryo engine instead of something with a bit more power.

If however I am proved wrong and it turn's out to actually be good then all the better but there is the danger that Microsoft may now opt to make it an Xbox Exclusive title which will really, really upset fan's whom are mostly PC based.

STALKER.
One of my favorites .
Unfortunately it appears Bethesda has delineated this into a post-apocalyptic Prey

I will hold off on that statement as I just watched both trailers on Steam .
Looks like they gave GSC Game World free reign.
Thank you Bethesda .

The Creation Engine is barely the gamebryo engine at this point. It looks pretty nice imo, especially for a Bethesda game. The gameplay is what will really matter though, and I'm expecting it to be pretty good, definitely better than the first Outer Worlds game and more open world style. The Outer Worlds felt very linear to me due to the small size of each planet.

Btw here's the Starfield trailer:

Tried to get into Outer worlds but I just wasn’t feeling it.
I have game pass and it was on there - might still be. I tried it for about 10 hours trying to force myself to like it.
But nope. Wasn’t a fan.
Maybe pt2 will intrigue me more.

It was moderately fun at first, got steadily worse and too repetitive and there are only so many corporate jokes and idiot NPC's that you can take before the game becomes a grind, I played it to the end and was underwhelmed, got the free DLC that came out but am not going to pay more for the first paid DLC and think the game as both far too short, not varied enough, world's were too small and reused the same boring creatures time after time after time, I mean how did alien gorillas from the first world and other creatures end up on every planet and ever asteroid?.

The plot was crap as well though at it's core it could have worked, it was indeed an on the rails experience, yes you could shoot everything and everyone if you wanted, you could play the nice guy, you could side with the corporations or go against them but in the end it made no difference, the hint of the lost communication with earth, something having happened possibly an alien invasion were the only thing's and they made you hope that you could get out of the insane asylum that the games worlds felt like and then go and fight some real alien menace perhaps even save human race instead of the ideocracy that the outer worlds colonies seemed to be.

The only likable character you meet was the fist scientist and his part in the game is too short, the characters were deliberately hit with the ugly stick undoubtedly to appease the PC (In mean Political Correct crowd the Reeeeeee's not Personal Computer users) crowd and they all seemed to be of shall we say uncertain sexuality except for the first follower not that it matters as that is just about every game these days but if that was what players really wanted there would not be tens of thousands of cosmetic mods for just about every game out there that other than the usual bouncy additions try to just make characters look better.

Lazy game designers that suspiciously seem to have copied ugly from the designers over at ME Andromeda (I wonder if Manveer Heir was in there somewhere with his white baby's tears mug).

So yes if I put my Charitable hat on the table the outer worlds Sucked big time and was one of the biggest disappointments in recent years since we were expecting New Vegas in Space and it turned out to be anything but.
