That was a qualifying game.
We drew 0-0 with Sweden but qualified for the World Cup Finals.....where we got to the semi-final and Germany beat us on penalties.

No

Did you?

We are In the final round of a major tournament since 1966. Respect is due.

I remember the USA world cup. You idiots wanted to make the goals bigger. Probably wanted a multi ball release too.

Your grass on the pitch was six inches tall. Utter wankers. No idea..

Not the team I'd want to lose to, humorless bastards that they are.

What the heck did i just see? In the ENG/DEN game there was clearly another ball just a sitting there on the pitch. How the heck does that happen? I've got it paused on Sportscenter and there a ball just sitting there? Not a mirage. I don't get it, this is one of the biggest soccer tourneys and there's just a stray ball sitting there while play is going on?

You would think they could have a guy who's sole job is to make sure there aren't ANY errant balls on the field while action is a going on? I think they make enough money to pay a guy a few quid for that simple job.

I feel like Vince Lombardi, "What the hell's going on out here?".

Is this usual? I don't get how a ball could be out there and they actually played around it. Heck, they wan't to put a second ball out there I'm thinking of faking the other team out with what ball I'm playing.

Theoretically, play would normally be stopped with two balls on the pitch. However, it's at the referee's discretion if he let's play go on.

www.theindianpaper.com...

Law 5 (indent 3) of the IFAB, which governs the laws of the game, provides for provisions for such a case. The referee thus has the possibility of stopping the match. He can also let the game continue according to his interpretation, in this chapter entitled “External interference”

From Law 5: www.theifab.com...

Outside interference
• stops, suspends or abandons the match for any offences or because of
outside interference e.g. if:
• the floodlights are inadequate
• an object thrown by a spectator hits a match official, a player or team
official, the referee may allow the match to continue, or stop, suspend or
abandon it depending on the severity of the incident
• a spectator blows a whistle which interferes with play – play is stopped
and restarted with a dropped ball
• an extra ball, other object or animal enters the field of play during the
match, the referee must:
– stop play (and restart with a dropped ball) only if it interferes with play
– unless the ball is going into the goal and the interference does not
prevent a defending player playing the ball; the goal is awarded if the
ball enters the goal (even if contact was made with the ball) unless the
interference was by the attacking team
– allow play to continue if it does not interfere with play and have it
removed at the earliest possible opportunity
• allows no unauthorised persons to enter the field of play

What's done is done.

It's just not cricket!

www.theguardian.com...

Uefa has charged England after a laser pointer was shone in the face of the Denmark goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel in Wednesday night’s Euro 2020 semi-final.

Along with investigating the laser pointer – shone at Schmeichel before he saved Harry Kane’s extra-time penalty only for Kane to score the rebound – Uefa is looking into the booing of the Danish anthem and the lighting of fireworks inside the stadium. England have also been charged with “disturbance caused by its supporters during the national anthem”.

The laser pointer worries me. What if Schmiechel had been caught in the eye, maybe even blinded? England could have risked having their win turned over to the Danes (normally 3-0 score administrative sanction).

I cant do it, i just cant do it anymore.

Ive supported England since Wales were knocked out. Ive posted and posted "come on England".
But after last night im done, i cant support them no more.

Why? The booing of the national anthem. The laser in Schmeichel's face during the penalty.
I heard the booing of the German national anthem but seeing as it was the Germans i didnt say anything. History and all that.
But last night's disgraceful behaviour by a certain section of the crowd was sickening. Talk about disrespect. Not only booing but nazi salutes. Horrible.
A laser pointer in the keeper's face, yet more crap from the English fans.

Its not just the fans.
The FA bang on about fair play all the time. We've seen the banners, the posters.
Kane diving all night. Sterling diving for the penalty. He wasn't touched. Yes VAR should have done better, but if he didn't dive there wouldnt be a penalty. So much for fair play.

I dont want to support this behaviour of the team and certainly not the fans.

Im done with yiz. I tried i gave it me best. But # that. Not supporting that crap.
