Here are perplexing photos from deer trail cams of something with lights descending. Strange to say the least....I don’t buy the Mfg’s explanation that it’s a Blowback effect from their cameras. Photo 2 shows an angle and much distance from the camera, for it not to be explained as what the Mfg says. The Mfg, doesn’t address this angled and distanced photo in relationship to the deer...how dismissive.

JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - They were caught on camera the night of February 16. Mysterious lights that appeared in the sky over the 150 acres that Rainer and Edith Shattles call home in the Cumbest Bluff area of Jackson County. Were they a phenomenon that's simple to explain, or something else? The Shattles never tire of looking at the strange images caught by their trail cameras on that clear winter night. "We have unusual things happen around here that happen, but it's usually associated with our grandchildren. But this case, we didn't know what it was," Edith recalled. "I was looking for a nice buck to be showing up on the trail camera actually."

In the second picture, once I zoomed in,
I can see a figure of a person maybe
to the left of the
Big, shiny eyes.
And another figure sorta under the shiny eyes.
🤷‍♀️

A branch. Spaceships doesn't grow on trees.

Car coming out from a curve on the right of the road, that's why one light in easy to see.

Car stopped to avoid hitting the deer and the other car coming behind the deer.

I actually see more than that.....but I think it’s caused by lighter shades contrasted against darker shades of each other in the gray scale graininess of the photos.

There are two other options .....perhaps by one of two things in which we are both seeing when zoomed in...

Seeing familiar objects or patterns in otherwise random or unrelated objects or patterns is called pareidolia. It's a form of apophenia, which is a more general term for the human tendency to seek patterns in random information. Everyone experiences it from time to time.

Or

Apophenia is a general term for interpreting patterns or meaning in meaningless data—this involves any kind of information, including visual, auditory, or a data set. Pareidolia focuses on visual information

However.....the lights seem to be indisputable.....so far.

Try comparing the height of the lights as opposed to the height of the daylight shots of tree’s and scenery of area in the vid. I think the lights are higher off the ground. Imo.

This is relatively flat land except for the brush and trees. The “car” would have to be heading down from on a hill.

I think this↓ one is just some sort of camera artifact showing an upside down mirrored image of the deer. The 'lights' are his eyes, with his ears upside down below the eyes.

I don't know how to change the opacity to overlay it where you can see both images, but this is side by side, the original along with a duplicate with the 'lights' flipped over and pasted onto his face.

Why not? They are the manufacturer's after all.

Your second link has the explanation from them, MFG. I cant copy the text from there for some reason but if anyone wants to know what it is go to the OP's second link. I'll post it again below.

Wow! That’s convincing that it could be the blowback effect the Mfg mentions. Admittedly I have not researched the effect....but your comparison is a great argument for it. I’ll have to delve into the Blowback effect.....

What throws me in photo 2 is the way the lights appears to be coming in at an angle (like turning in to the field) so that the lights finally settles up, straight up and down with the head of the deer.

Update: upon further review.....the deer was probably at a reciprocating angle or opposite reciprocating angle....the deer head (ears) angle is not clearly defined.

I didn’t notice the deer head there ....

For all practical purposes, it appears to be a bust! The Mfg would of course know their products better than the consumer....

Thx for yous input!

There is an episode of Paranormal : Fact or Faked (IIRC) where this is totally debunked ,

Camera appears to be angled down to the road. And distance to a target at night can make targets appear at a higher elevation.
We would also need to know the time and weather conditions. These things will effect how we interpret a picture. Things look different at night.
I have to agree with Trueman on this one

This thread is a good example of dismissing evidence because it doesn't fit in with one's belief.
You chose not to ' buy ' the maker's explanation out of hand because maybe it ruined a good story?
They are the experts, if anyone could explain it they could.

Yes true....I dismissed the mfg explanation but then reconciled it to change my mind with the help of others here. See post @ 02:01 PM

So now I believe the mfg. I’ve changed my mind, I was wrong. And that is hard for some people to do especially in a forum as this. To admit to being wrong on things, as I do.

This has nothing to do with belief? A good story? Perhaps....no one else had posted it in searching ATS......So then why shouldn’t it be entered into the forum?

If anything it shows I’m reasonable and flexible. If I’m wrong, I’m wrong, if I’m right, I’m right, if I’m indecisive, then I’m indecisive.

I actually learned something.....you can’t fault me for that.
