I've seen a few interviews with Andrew Doyle and he is usually spot on.

Haven't the new Scottish laws already backfired a bit?
I heard someone got in trouble for sending a "hate" tweet about the English but don't know the details.

It'll be another case of rules for thee and not for me, though.
They'll find a thousand excuses to save their own side from the unintended consequences of silly laws.

I dont know about that Tulpa.

Chances are, if our Police do come across the fellow in London where armed Police are generally only a few mins away.

And if he decides to pose a threat, get wide, or endanger the public any further, they will shot him dead on the spot, given what's already been perpitrated.

Our armed police, whilst not known to go into situations Gung ho, tend to not mess around.

The biggest problem I see -- in practice -- is that we're told not to offend certain people for certain reasons, but at the same time, we're told it's okay -- good even! -- to deliberately offend other certain people.

Don't be offensive to Black people... but be as offensive as you want to White people....

Don't be offensive to Muslim people... but be as offensive as you want to Christians and Jews...

Don't be offensive to men who identify as women... but be as offensive as you want to Karens middle-age women...

So it's not just about creating an equal society or a nicer society. It's exactly the opposite.

And, naturally, this has led to too many people (especially young people) not being able to handle any negativity, whether it's outright insults, constructive criticism, or just ideas expressed that they don't like. Everything is oh-so-personal now. But they can sure dish out what they cannot take, and do so with the utmost self-righteousness.

It has also led to other people (especially older people) being as offensive as possible for no good reason. Just to be offensive. We see it right here on ATS every day. Gratuitous insults (sometimes veiled, sometimes not) against a class, be it race, religion, or sex. Especially sex. I have never seen any female member make general slurs against men on here, but some male members have no problem making general slurs against all women out of the blue.

I think of it all as part of the dumbing down of America. It's about dumbing down our emotional maturity as well as our intellectual maturity. And too many are happy to fall for it.

Which can be and is used against us -- the "little" people -- by the political critters who only want power.

Yes couldn't agree more mate and perhaps that's the whole point - the mindset does seem to have been weaponized against those it claims to protect.

Remove the bedrock of truth from under their feet and they'll crave a fluffy cloud fantasy land where nothing can be offensive.
Create confusion and people need authority figures for guidance which is merely manipulation of pliant minds.
Clone followers afraid of independent thought.

Us grown ups are an inconvenience. The target is the young, easily led mind.

The same lefties that claim to be open and accepting and don't want to offend are the same group that spews the nastiest vile and leads the cancel culture.

Well said! I can't help but wonder how much of this is encouraged/propped up by the increasing number of "only child" families. I have a niece and a nephew who are the "only child," and there is a marked difference in how they interact as compared to my kids and their cousins from multiple-children families. Siblings have to share, and have to consider others, and learn to appreciate differences thru living. It's part and parcel for siblings. Not so much for the "only" child.

Thanks for posting that Boadicea and I think you hit a few nails on a few heads there.

Definitely seems like the infantilising of grown adults (and the abandonment of critical thinking) is being promoted wholesale - when it comes to media conditioning then I suppose narcissists are also far easier to control.

Do feel sorry for schoolkids as they've also got to contend with the fuzzy non logic and 'alternative facts' being pushed on them by supposed educational professionals.
