Hello - New Guy on the block just introducing myself

I have been reading this site since 2013 and have enjoyed a lot of topics. I finally decided to join up last year but never got around to it. I am off for the next week because my son is getting married (my back property) and him and I are going to clean up some brush, paint the dock and deck, and get some new tables for the two pavllions. It is raining a bit, so I got bored.

Interested in math, science, IT, education, hunting, fishing, cabin building, farming, and woodcraft.

Thanks for the congats to my son. I had little to do with it, he is still good looking and charming.

Hunting and fishing - I do it quite a bit, and I learn a lot. Maybe some day it will pay off. I simply like being outside, and if I take a gun or a pole for a walk, well, then all the better!

I don't drug the land. I have about 6 acres on my homestead, and about 22 up in the mountains. I farm about 1/4 acre at home for vegetables and melons, and my mountain place is my fruit tree and berry sanctuary. We eat and can the home garden, and up in the hills we do get some fruit, but miss most of the produce. The animals get the rest. It pays off during hunting season, and it also makes you feel good to live in a bit of “land of plenty.”

Everyone should plant a few fruit trees in their life.

Thanks. They both Graduate from college this week. My son did 3 years in Marines, and at 25 just bought his first house. I am one proud father, and now I get to have a whole new group of folks I can call my family. Life turns out well if your wait for it.
