Earth will end up looking like Saturn with rings of trash. Then we will be unable to lauch any space missions because of the danger of collision with our junk.

Maybe something like a big sticky ball of goo. Like one of those gooey mousetraps. Something that can take the shock of a high-speed impact and then absorb whatever it was it hit.
