To get in the pub now in the UK you have to scan a QR code on the CV19 app.
I just wave my phone around and scan nothing.
They never check and I've never installed the crappy App.

I'd wave one of these -

If they're decent folks they'd just laugh and wave you through. If not, it could get interesting.

Wouldn't poisoned poison be harmless, though...??

These sorts of things are, to put it mildly, disturbing.

Access to camera's?? Really? My monitor, or any that I ever buy, will not have that feature.

No you don't.
Pubs must display a poster with a QR code for customers to use Track and Trace if they wish.
But pubs can still have a simple pencil and paper record system if they wish for customers who choose not to be digitally Tracked and Traced.

I have signed in as J Cheever Loophole, Baron Samedi, Winston Smith, Katniss Everdeen and Paddy O'Concrete amongst others.....no-one has ever pulled me up.

I agree with sensible precautions, I passionately oppose people monitoring my every move.

.

It's worth a try.
Although I'd check with a doctor first just in case I've confused it with poisoned venom.

Well, it looks like it’ll be a credential on the NHS App, so no big shakes, unless you don't want to have the vaccine. Should avoid having to apply and be bureaucratically light. I guess there will be provision for people who don't have smart phones.

It was pretty clear it had to happen as countries are demanding it for travel - e.g. Spain only opening to tourists who can show they have been vaccinated, for example. If the UK government did nothing, then no one would be able to go to Spain!

This type of thing is not unprecedented. For those of us who travel, they will know that evidence of vaccinations is a necessary pre-requisite for entry into some countries.

Well I've traveled the world without having to show any vaccination paperwork.
In the UK you're advised to have certain vaccinations for some countries but they are not mandatory and I've never been asked to prove I have had any.

Then you have simply not been to any of the countries where a vaccine certificate for, for example, yellow fever, IS mandatory.

The UK doesn't make any vaccination mandatory, it's the country that you are visiting that does that. So, if Spain says you must have proof of vaccination for covid-19 in order to enter, then that's what you will need. And hopefully the NHS app will provide that proof quickly and easily and avoid delays in your holiday.

Obviously, if you don't wish to visit any country requiring proof of vaccination, you won't need the app!
