The device can be as small as a wrist-watch. (In fact the one I saw was exactly that...back in '98 when I shook the hand of myself from 17 years in the future..)

It generates a magnetic vortex field which culminates in a huge release of bright white light, and a small whirlwind...
After which the "Travellers" are gone...into Time future or past.

Perhaps. I'd need to have somebody prove to me that people are completely incapable of lying using their thoughts, because I can see where it could certainly be possible. Maybe like Christopher Reeve in that "Village of the Damned" remake. Think hard of a wall, or a delicious apple. Think of Tiger Woods flying off a cliff in an SUV. Think of anything other than the thing someone might want to find out.

I think crime will always be with us, since crime is something defined by law and not a tendency we carry in our minds.

That is definitely possible with Terrestrials and most Supernaturals, but not with Supernals...you know Angels, Makers and the Creator...

....and they dont "suck" at it...they are ultra thorough. Otherwise we would all know by now without doubt that ghosts are real and extraterrestrial life is too...and that would mean alot of 'splainin to do by some folks that got more to hide than even me!
