There's a special place in hell for those who betray family.

Then her parents are destined for it... Michael states his wife wouldn't want to live this way, and has been trying to carry out her wishes for years, as is his legally granted right. This has been upheld in DOZENS of court cases, even the State and US Supreme Court have shown they don't have a say in this, and yet the governor and the president say differently, and so they have directly circumvented the Constitution to do so.

That is what people should be riled up about, regardless of the side they are on here...

So I guess we just give her a glass of water and a piece of bread and let God work its miracle.

I can go with that.

I suggested that we respect the possiblity of miracles...your comment is moronic at best...and demonstrates your anger towards God in reality.

My guts tells me that if you spent time with Terri, you would find she can experience happiness, peace, and comfort. I would guess that she is only uncomfortable when someone is refusing to feed her. I bet she wants to live.

Really, well I think you are insulting me with obviously your opinion here, but I will just ignore you very bias link thread.

May the fundametalist group you side with, have gotten you to believe their religous agenda, you are not here to see the truth but to bring you own agenda also and start a controvertial debate base on lies.

Maybe some will fall for it but it will not be many. Good luck

Would YOU want to live in such a state for over 15 years? I know that if anyone ever did this to me, I'd come back and haunt them till the end of their days...

Could you imagine being trapped in your own body for 15 years? Unable to communicate with the outside world? At least in Terri's case her damaged brain may not even comprehend it...kind of a blessing really, for a fully cognizant person would truly go out of their mind during such an ordeal.

We have more compassion for a sick and dying dog than has been shown to Terri. Let her go. It's bad enough euthanasia is outlawed...so she can't go with dignity, but for her sake, at least let her go....

It's day 4. I hope she sits up and says "I'm hungry" soon. If she's able

From the look of her MRI, seems about as likely as the Pope break-dancing....

From the article you posted...
"Terri Schiavo, at the center of an emotional and political storm over whether she should be allowed to die, will almost certainly never recover from her unconscious condition, neurologists agree."

You can listen to the audio for yourself...without being a neurologist...and you should be able to recognize that she is NOT in an unconsious condition...

The neurologists who say that Terri is unconscious are quacks.

There's a big different between "not recovering" and "suffering 24/7". I don't see any evidence that she is suffering in her natural state. On the contrary, denying her nutrition and slowly starving her is creating suffering.

If by unconcsious you mean awake, then you are right. But the defenition of unconscious is more in depth than that:

The unconscious mind (or subconscious) is the aspect (or puported aspect) of the mind of which we are not directly conscious or aware.

The unconscious mind should not be confused with "being unconscious" and unconsciousness which is loss of consciousness.

Terri is awake, but is she aware of everything that's going on around her?

You could say that by looking at one of the videos made by Terri's parents that show her eye's following a balloon, that she is concsious. But you probably haven't heard that the video is four hours long and they tried to get Terri to talk, laugh, move, etc. for four straight hours. If you leave a monkey in a room with a keyboard for a few years, he'll eventually type an essay.

The bottom line is that over the course of over a DOZEN court battles, different COURT-APPOINTED doctors have examined all of Terri's charts, tests, responses, etc. and all of them have come to the conclusion that she is in a persistent vegetative state. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they are infinitely more capable of making this determination than her parents...

AT some point you have to ask are Terri's parents doing whats best for Terri or themselves? The real tragedy here is endless series of court battles and the like. The comes a time to let go. Hopefully mom and dad come to grip with thier issues and put a stop to this whole asinine drama play.

So I see now, you didn't like that we all know who is behind the video and the agenda.
You also claim that doctors don't know anything.
So I guess we just give her a glass of water and a piece of bread and let God work its miracle.
I can go with that.

A very good answer. I completly agree with you.

You sound like one of those people, who would deny their child a simple aspirin souly for religious purposes. Come on she is suffering. Be a human being.

Let her cling to life!

After all who cares about her wishes or the opinions of doctors or the cost of keeping a vegetable alive!

After all what do doctors know anyway?

That sums up the arguement for keeping the tube in, once all the religious nonsense is taken away.

Keep the tube out.

And if the poor girl can speak, then why doesnt she do that when a doctor or a camera or any other artifact beyond an easily discredityed tape recorder is in the room?

Exactly what hoops does one have to jump through to deserve to live?

Doctors are not Gods. God does want us to use doctors, though...but not worship them, believe them without question, or comply with their demands without a fight if it goes against what you believe to be right and true.

I don't know if it is clearly been established that Terri is suffering.

How about....not being a vegetable for 15 years?

Hopefully, Terri isn't suffering much, since most of her nervous system is gone, it's doubtful she feels much. Still, they are giving her medicine to help with the pain from the starvation, just in case she can actually feel anything.

Though, wouldn't YOU classify being trapped in your body and unable to communicate with the world suffering? I know I would....and I'd want it to end.

Either she has feelings...which would be a demonstration of consciousness...or she is not feeling anything which would mean it is impossible for her to be in a state of suffering. Either way...I don't see how it is okay to kill this woman.
