RUSH - Best intro EVER!

As a drummer myself the death of Neil Peart last year shook my musical world , I actually shed a tear for someone I'd never met although through his music and our shared passion we were connected or at least I was connected to him.

Neil's death also brought an end to RUSH , no doubt one of the greatest and most influential bands in rock history so after nearly a year of not listening to or watching a RUSH video due to "emotions" this here video popped up on youtube with the title "RUSH - Best intro EVER!" , a claim like that needs to be checked , right ?


Can't say I disagree.

Best intro Bingley Hall, Stafford 1981.

Only saw them once but that was a good concert!

Honestly, I like Rush. But I do think the drummer for Booze and Glory is better...

For a glorified cowshed they had some good bands on but, back then, my pocket money meant gigs were a rare treat.

Rush actually gave up the ghost a couple of years earlier on January 19, 2018.

I mean, they knew Neil was ill so there wasn't much point in dragging it out.

I suspected something was badly wrong because it was a non-negotiable that's it, we're done, no more.

That really was an insane intro. Rush is a great band and I gotta agree with you, that was the best intro I have ever seen.

I found it on Youtube a while back and it's a good thing it's not an album or I'd have worn it out by now.

100 percent agree and yea losing him and EVH so close together 2 virtuosos of rock.

I love Anthem! And A Passage to Bangkok... and who doesn’t love A Farewell to Kings!!

I love Neil’s regular drumming style on this and this slipability on your own songs is a tour de force (sounds like a great name for an album!)

A year... ??

I was reminded that it has been five since Prince died! The time leaks so fast... and add in 2020, a year that we are glad to see pass... and guy, man, dude!!

It is good to hear Rush (and in a enthusiastic light instead of a heavy one!).

Everyone's going to dump on me but...

Good drummer, nice kit, fairly tight, great sound engineering, and staging...

But musically, a bit 'meh'. Didn't go anywhere or do anything in terms of the music, for me.

Rush was Canadas best export...

I love Rush. Had the privilege of seeing them in their 80’s years at least three time. The Moving Pictures tour and the Distant Early Warning tour along with the Power Windows tour. Incredible shows, impeccable artistry. Unfortunately as work and career took over my ability to see the tours in the 90’s and ‘00s faded to near non-existence. At least my copy of R40 is on the way so I can see those tours I missed on blu-ray. I have that performance on my Rock Anthems portion of my private YouTube channel. Neil Pert was the Maestro for a reason.
