This butterfly is either playing with, or tormenting this little puppy. And, it's so cute I just can't even!

That might be the most adorable thing i've ever seen in the animal kingdom! Thanks so much!

I watched a butterfly torture one of our roosters, last year.

It was adorable. The butterfly kept landing on his back, and really annoyed him... he actually started running from this butterfly!

One of my ducks stepped in, and ended that... he ate that bug without hesitation...

Circle of life...

There's a third option it could be. I can't tell what kind of butterfly it is, and it's not close enough to tell if it's a male or female butterfly, but I'd wager it's a male butterfly. I am 6'3" and have literally had butterflies attacking me in my own backyard. When they do that, it's because they're protecting their domain and that I might be invading it, looking for any females of their species. I've had at least three different species of butterflies do this to me in my backyard, and they've always turned out to be males. I study butterflies and I've seen a lot of interesting behavior out of them.

'Protecting their domain' sounds much more likely to me. It seems like a rather risky thing to be doing, if it was just for playful reasons.

Still cute and entertaining nonetheless.

So cute. Reminds me of a time my family was watching a small butterfly float around our puppy at the beach. Lady, our puppy, snapped it up mid air. Needless to say, we were all quite shocked and let out a audible "AWWWWWWEE Lady"...

Obviously, she sensed our disappointment, opened her mouth and astonishingly, the butterfly flew out...

It was pretty neat to see, hopefully that little butterfly flew off and had lots of baby butterflies...

My dachshund will chase and nip/bite at ANYTHING that happens by. Until, one sunny day, a butterfly was just cruising all around the deck and checking out both dogs and me, and neither one even flinched. That butterfly was toast, so I thought, but that snapping turtle of a dog just let that butterfly flit all around for several minutes before it flew away. The next bee, fly or hummingbird that came up got attention, but that butterfly was like "untouchable".
My wife says that butterflies are recently departed souls. Having seen what I just had, that made perfect sense, until I drove my car again and had a bug splattered windshield.
I do not abide the appropriation of the butterfly by the gays. BooFooing doesn't get one a spirit guide. Just a [ed.]shi**y dick. :-|
