Sharing two favorite Irish poets in honor of the Emerald Isle and Celts.

Happy St. Paddy's Day, friends!

Blind Dog by Patrick Kavanaugh

I follow the blind dog
Over the twisted trail,
Bled by the wild-rose thorns
Where he lashes his comet tail.
I follow the blind dog
Crying to my star: O star
Of a passionate pagan’s desire,
Lead me to the truths that are.

Stubborn Mór by ~ Nuala Ni Dhomhnaill

I’m telling you stubborn Mór that
green snakes
will come from your womb
if you sit on festering knowledge
one day longer.
Gather into yourself like a bee the
hours that fall open,
ripening in the bright shaft of the
sun. Store them
and make of them honeyed days.

Irish Blessing

May those who love us, love us
And those who hate us, hate us
But for those who hate us
May God turn their ankles
So we may know them by their limping.

You know why there aren't any Irish people whinging about the racial inequality of the Lucky Charms leprechaun? It's because Irish people aren't whiney bitches.

Party safe and have fun!

I was wondering if he meant that second pic with that nice serene lake? Fishing off the Cliffs of Moher sure would be epic, though!

I particularly liked the second poem, I’ve been like stubborn Mor to often, and I suppose the last year has made many that way. Best make the most of the time we have and make of it honeyed days.
