The idea of Utopia is factual perfection. Just as communism is, factually
I'm an older member, I lived under communism. I would respectfully disagree with you that it represents perfection on the grounds that it became
unsustainable once everybody reached a certain level.
It sounded nice if you were poor and had nothing to begin with but if you were middle class and were told that you had to give up things that you'd
rightfully earned it got a little more complicated.
My friends who came from educated professional families didn't much like being told that their things were being confiscated to give to illiterate
peasant farmers.
I'm going to get stick for this, but I much preferred thing under socialism. The poor had essential services and a minimum standard of living
garunteed, and the middle classes could choose to do more in order to get more.
The cornerstone of this was free education. If you were willing to study then you could do so regardless of income. Those who chose not to study could
choose a vocational education, or even to go things their own way.
Life was simpler back then.
