This was a recent post maybe within the last 5 days, but someone posted that expressing oneself can give a 10 year prison term. Anyway it would be easy to find, but I looked for it, not sure where it was posted though.

No, I wanted to let others know its possible to face prison if you offend someone these days.

So I guess you don't know the post I'm referring too.

That's not really the reason he's been charged. He told people they could vote via text and did it in a way to deceive people. It wasn't because he made memes.

Several news outlets have managed to lose even more credibility with how they reported this.

If you make a meme that tries to trick people into losing their vote you should expect repercussions. The local governments have tantrums when somebody tries to manipulate their own carefully planned election scams.

But God forbid you actually change or amend laws to affect mail in ballot counting or registering, that's gravy.

I agree, if the guy created and published this "meme" to manipulate the vote, then he should be charged with interfering with the election. However, ten years, if they give it to him, is incredibly harsh and obviously a message to other activists. They can not and will not allow anyone outside of their group to employ the same dirty tactics they use and get away with.

Ultimately, with the level the left is taking this, anyone voicing an unsanctioned opinion, much less engaged in activism, will have to have a team of lawyers to protect their personal freedoms. There better not be the smallest detail in your political opinions that can be contorted into a law suit by the rabid socialist Democrats. They can and will destroy your life from top to bottom if they feel you are the slighted threat to their agenda.

If he was arrested for trying to trick voters, why wasn't Kristina Wong also arrested for the exact same meme, with a different target?

I wonder if those memes telling people to winterize the tires on their car by putting water in them could end up getting them sued or put in prison?
It is humor at the expense of stupid people.
It is funny too.

I don't know, but it sounds like you're under the mistaken impression that laws are applied equally.

It doesn't change the fact that it's being hyped by the press in a misleading way.
