so he declined to show up for a perjury trap? If you can't look at the language used in the article and see it's a witch hunt, you really shouldn't be here at all.

On Thursday, October 7, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. ET, The Committee on Oversight and Reform will hold a hearing to assess the election “audit” in Maricopa County, Arizona, conducted by Cyber Ninjas, Inc., and how this and similar audits undermine public confidence in elections and threaten our democracy.

The hearing will examine how, despite failing to find any fraud, Cyber Ninjas’ audit has already inflicted grave damage to our democracy. The audit has threatened the integrity of Arizona’s elections, inspired similar hyper-partisan audits in other states, and been used to justify dangerous state election subversion laws.

I'd have bolded the entire last paragraph, but it's pointless.

If the audit found no fraud, as they suggest, then the audit would have restored confidence in our democracy. But...in clown world, you can lie, then spin, then obfuscate, then hide. Honk #ing honk.

I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Not necessarily a liar, but woefully unprepared and unknowledgeable about election procedures. Therefore when questioned he will be like a deer in headlights.

He would have gotten some softballs from the Republicans like, "When you asses how you and your team performed on the audit would you say it was more 'Awesome Sauce' or would you classify it as 'Amaze Balls'?".

I understand what you're saying, but he's the side of justice and clarity right? So if you have all this bombshell evidence, wouldn't you gladly step forth, answer all their questions with your all mighty truth and live on air prove the claims in your report?

One would think so... Much like one would think that Maricopa County -- and every state/county -- would gladly and proudly step forth, provide all election materials, and answer all questions with their all mighty truth and live on air prove the integrity of the elections they conducted, right? RIGHT???

However, that is presuming a fair and level playing field, and barring any unknown circumstances. Maricopa County chose not to do so based on the perceived bias of the auditors. Perhaps Logan chose not to based on the stated bias of the critters on the Oversight Committee. Or perhaps not. I don't know. Hence, my wanting to hear from Logan himself why he chose to decline the invitation.

The man in charge of the audit refuses to lay claim to the information in the audit. Why? Shouldn't it stand under the weight of scrutiny? People wanted the audit to see if the election could bear scrutiny, so the results should be the same.

Well, I'd say you are giving the critters too much credit and you are presuming much here about what will or will not happen in this hearing. Too much. The critters do not describe this as a hearing of the findings of the audit. Rather, its purpose is --

...to assess the election “audit” in Maricopa County, Arizona, conducted by Cyber Ninjas, Inc., and how this and similar audits undermine public confidence in elections and threaten our democracy.

Perhaps I am presuming too much, though, and the critters do intend to hear and examine every illegal, illegitimate and questionable action taken by the County in the election and how these illegal, illegitimate and questionable action undermines public confidence in elections and threaten our Constitutional Republic.

Hope springs eternal, eh? We'll find out in less than an hour...

I just noticed on the House Oversight youtube link that --

Chat is disabled for this live stream.

Hmmmm.... can't imagine why that would be...

Hearing has started...

Chairman's opening statement. "Biden won decisively." Trump tried to prevent certification of results. Asked to bring forward evidence. Perpetrators failed to bring forth "one scintilla" of evidence of fraud. Hyperpartisan audits not about truth, just to bring doubt, make it harder to vote. AZ audit really a fishing expedition. Rejected qualified auditor, chose one with no experience and promoted "Big Lie." Sloppy practices compromised machines, forcing taxpayers to buy new machines. Dark money funded audit, perhaps even Trump. But audit failed to find evidence. "No substantial evidence" of difference in recounts. Hyperpartisan audits spreading. Hearing today to hear "facts". Invited Doug Logan, refused invitation, also refused to produce documents. Will hear from Chairman and Vice Chairman of Maricopa County. Will also hear from election and democracy "experts" how audits are spreading, and how this is a threat to "democracy." Biggest threat to "our Constitutional Republic since Civil War." People will know "truth". Encourage Republicans to denounce Trump's "Big Lie."

good thing they are objective and have no pre-conceived notions. Otherwise this would look fishy.

New speaker... Comer?

Over half of Americans question election. Laws violated and changed. Committee wading into state issues. Yielding to Mr. Biggs from Arizona...

Biggs: Cannot claim audit showed integrity while claiming it is a threat to democracy. Falacious and logical inconsistency. Forensic audit should prove integrity and competence. Not "confirms what we think" but "undermines" integrity. Dems/lefitist critical before it began. Had agenda. Mentioned today: "They don't think legislative changes should be made." in 2018, such problems with Maricopa County Recorder went under scrutiny by Maricopa County, who took back everything they could legislatively. Fraught with problems. Cannot argue attack on Constitutional Republic after Dems claiming 2016 election tainted by Russians. Advocated for full forensic audit to restore election integrity. Spent hundreds of thousands and multiple hearings to prevent audits. Believes legislative changes needed in AZ and other states. Does not understand Committee's interference in state matters.

New speaker... didn't get name...

Biden beat Trump. Trump browbeat election officials, like GA Raffensperger. Many/most rejected Trump's efforts. Courts "definitively and meticulously" refuted all claims of corruption, etc. Rejected again and again. But "Big Lie" lives in audits around the country. This audit "rejected" claim Trump won. Officials won in same elections they challenge. Do you accept audit results won?

Biggs: We don't know who won. Audit demonstrates many issues. Will go through them today.

??: Trump refuses to accept, followed off "the ledge."

I suppose it's as good as a congressional hearing. Everyone gets 5 minute to berate the accused, then nothing happens. But after 9-10 hours, at least 30 seconds of quality sound bytes have been had. so it's a win.

Making this about Trump, shows they haven't a clue what this actually was. How sad and pathetic.

Chairwoman listing hearings held on various issues...

Comer: Point of order -- we called for public hearing, but had closed door hearing. Public wants transparent hearings.

Chairwoman: Hearing on Afghanistan planned. Back to hearing topic. Listing "witnesses", sworn in on camera. Written statements will be part of record.

Jack Sellers: Start by saying election was "free, fair and accurate." Republican elected in that election, as well as Gates. Election "secure, accurate and efficient". Praised by election experts. Knew Maricopa County would play "pivotal role" in presidential election. Very inclusive of all political parties. Invested in "robust" public information campaign, how to register, where to vote, how to vote. Presidential preference and primary declared well run. Only general election declared incompetent.

Naive in thinking they could sit down with Senate, answer questions, put this behind us. Some "don't care what the facts are" but want to foster "mistrust." Time to move on, securing greater future.

Bill Gates: 2020 election "best election ever run" because most scrutinized. Election experts said so, machine counts confirmed. Public said so too. By every measure secure. Some see differently. Attacked word done, fanned flames of conspiracy. Led to first "non-peaceful transfer of power" in the country. Twenty members asked to disregard results, to change Biden electors to Trump electors. Then went to court for election materials. Failed, but carried on. Threatened to jail MCBOS. Cast doubt on Maricopa County "audits." Should have ended there. Hired Cyber Ninjas -- inexperienced and incompetent. Cyber Ninjas accused County of deleting files... "out and out lie." Will mean losers will always challenge results and weaken democracy.

oversight.house.gov...

Wow! with the amount of lies coming out of both Jack Sellers' and Bill Gates' mouths should be enough to convict them of perjury, but I think they will be facing much larger charges before too long.

Let the attempted damage control continue....

Becker (Center Election Innovation and Research): 25 years experience. Concerned as never before about threat to democracy. Most secure, verified and transparent election. More legitimate audits than ever before. More pre-election litigation clarifying election rules, and post-election litigation verifying results. Tens of millions of "loser" Americans fed constant lies of massive conspiracy of election problems. Led to audit.

Cyber Ninjas flawed from start, spread lies, raised millions in dark money, taken to court for documents. Seized ballots, likely against federal law. Tainted evidence, found no fraud. Made wild claims about voters moving based on incomplete database. Efforts confirmed "nothing." Could not "manufacture enough fake fraud" to overturn results. Recounts confirmed results. Threats against election officials. Providing pro bono legal assistance. Still "zero evidence of significant fraud." Disastrous effects on democracy. Laws passed make elections less secure. Officials elections de-legitimized affecting ability to govern. Real audits are a good thing.

Ramuchanden (sp?) --

I can't hear this speaker well enough to competently share... Sounds like she's basically repeating other points though.

Cyber Ninjas perpetuate conspiracy theories... resisted transparency... incompetent... misunderstand something about voter databases... 23,000+ registered in commercial buildings... not new info.

Dr Shiva also incompetent... conflates ballot images with actual ballots... also ballot envelopes.

Sorry I couldn't get more.
