Yes, and you would think the government would have a duty to employ its own before importing others to do the jobs.

You would also think that in a time of what we're told is severe plague, we would want to make sure that is under control before opening our borders to anyone and everyone with visas too.

The government doesn't employ or import them.

It is probably more under control in the places these people are coming from than the US. They are probably being quarantined first but honestly it isn't that severe of a plague.

ETA: Of course, there are also highly paid workers on work visas. Someone I know was offered a position coding for google but was not able to take the job because although he had a tourist visa for the US it wasn't a work visa. So there is also that.

You do know that a huge portion of the visas that he is bringing back in a big way are in the tech sector, the same tech sector they keep telling coal miners to move into...
