Yeah. The '90s - Grunge was so depressing that it really ruined music and the decade. At least from a longtime professional musician's perspective it did. Give me the Fab Four any day. "We love you Beatles oh yes we do."

As a one time professional drummer I tend to differ (getting paid to play) . They are both good, but the real death to music was the early 2000's with over produced crap and over mixed over compressed over gained pop crap with no hook. And now here we are

You are absolutely 109% correct. I just didn't include that era because I don't even consider it to be music. It sucked so much, I've never played any of it in any band I've been in. And I've been a paid professional musician for my whole adult life, (40 years.) I've worked as a drummer and bass player. But my main instruments have been lead guitar and keyboards. Although I used to play trumpet in a jazz band.

p.s. here's some of the bands I've been in through the years. A link to some of our shows:

And.....?

.....and obsessed with trying to recreate the beatles?

Not sure about that.
They recorded some good songs but I don't get the way they are almost deified.
Sure, its impossible to deny the impact they had on society but in my opinion, for what little its worth, musically they are probably the most overrated band ever.

.... and not really caring?

I've always cared....I suspect that's what's held me back at times over the years.

yes i do. it was kinda stupid.

Sorry, I don't think so.

I did both and had an absolutely brilliant time!

But if anything was massive in the 1990's it was the Macarena.

From granny to the clubs, everyone did the dance!

George Harrison and the Radha Krishna Temple (1971) - Govinda Jaya Jaya.

en.wikipedia.org...(album)

Possibly the original recording in Western popular music, although this rendition is very traditional.

According to the YouTube description for the above clip:

An animated Bhakti~Art slideshow depicting the transcendental pastimes of Sri Sri Radha and Krishna. Animated artwork by Vishnu108. Govinda Jaya Jaya performed by The London Radha Krsna Temple produced and featuring George Harrison of Beatles fame. The words and translation follow.......... GOVINDA JAYA JAYA "Govinda Jaya Jaya Gopala Jaya Jaya Radha Ramana Hari Govinda Jaya Jaya" Literal meaning: Govinda (The Supreme Lord), Victory, Victory Gopala (The Supreme Lord as a boy tending a herd of cows), Victory, Victory Radha Ramana (The Divine Mother, spouse of Krishna), Victory, Victory Govinda, Victory, Victory (or "All glory to the Supreme Lord")
